I think its's so sweet that the one thing that kind of endears Charlie to HH Vox is what she says about his and Alastor's relationship being what proves there is good in them. Like, that probably hit different for him, because in his time, it would be the commonly accepted opinion that being in love with another man would send him straight to hell, and it's one of the main reasons they couldn't be openly together.
So now here comes Charlie. The princess of Hell itself, who admittedly has some sheltered views of what might or might not make someone a good person, but who by no means is blind to cruelty and evil actions. And looks him directly in the eyes, and tells him that the evidence she has of his capacity of doing good, is the one thing some people back on Earth would have villainized him and Alastor for even more so than for the murders. The one thing that matters to him most, the thing that he must have heard a billion times marked him as doomed anyways, the absolute love he has for his husband, is actually beautiful and right just the way it is.
