Christmas, but make it fashion. 🎄💅

On May 4th, I let my little girl go. Evie is one with the Force now. The Force is with her. . She had lost approximately thirty pounds from her peak weight, was running a fever, potentially suffering from liver failure, and of course was at risk of her tumor(s) rupturing at any moment. I could tell the vet didn't want to come right out and say it, but she didn't believe Evie would survive the weekend if we boarded her while we went out of town. As much as I didn't want to say goodbye, in my heart I knew it was time. She was just too sick. . We brought her blanket in from the car so she wouldn't have to lie on the tile floor; my mom came down to sit with us for a little bit and offer support. The vet gave us as much time as we needed, before and after. I told Evie how much I loved her, and how sorry I was, how I hadn't wanted this for her, how I hoped she would forgive me. She went to sleep in the same exam room as my sister-dog Missy did, twelve years ago. . This is the last photograph I took of her, on the night she finally smiled again.
