Coping with the realization that some people (a lot of people) will genuinely just not like you and will consistently misunderstand you because of the way your mental illness/disability impacts your daily functioning is just...so fucking hard.

No, I'm not trying to be annoying or difficult by advocating for myself. No, I don't owe you a detailed explanation of my personal medical information in order to be taken seriously. It would never be a good enough "excuse" anyway. Cause that's what people think you're looking for, "an excuse."

I hear the way people talk about other disabled people. Other mentally ill people. Why would I ever disclose more than I absolutely have to? I already know how you feel about people like me.

important distinction! you never mentioned reader accepting kean’s feelings or returning them, you only mention reader staying ;) because these are two very different questions ;))

bc i do think that even if reader had stayed, it doesn’t necessarily mean they did it out of consideration for kean’s feelings - only that their relationship would just become significantly more dysfunctional than it already was.

reader would resent kean for sabotaging their future opportunities and become extremely vindicated and manipulative in an attempt to try and fuck with his life and ‘return the favour’ back to him, to the point where they start neglecting fulfilling their own life just to ruin his.

choosing to stay with him after grad just to follow his attempts at creating a ‘loving’ relationship up with a pattern of infidelity that makes no attempt to be covert, embarrassing him in front of his superiors and colleagues, making it no secret that you’re crawling back home to him covered in a lover’s perfume, a million more kisses than he’d ever had on his own body.

unfortunately for you, this is exactly what kean wants. for you to dedicate your life to his? even in this attempt at destruction, you don’t realise that it’s no inconvenience to him, not when he’s got you exactly where he wants you— right within his reach.

Favorite thing in the Destiel tag is new time SPN watchers being like “wait…y’all were not joking about Dean and Cas…like they’re GAY gay” YES. ITS TRULY THAT DEEP.

I remember being a Destiel fan circa 2015 deciding to start watching teen wolf cuz I heard everyone talking about Sterek…only to watch it and be like um. This? This is…kinda weak sauce. This is just normal fandom shipping. And then it dawned on me that some people might think that is what Destiel is…when it’s truly, truly in the top ten wildest queerbaits of all time.

Also before I watched SPN, I was a Merlin fan and a BBC Sherlock fan. I think I had just assumed a level of homoerotic tension was typical in shows, but even then, the on screen stuff with Destiel is INSANE. Possibly unparalleled.

And even more insane that people TO THIS DAY will watch it and go “There’s nothing here you’re delusional!” Bestie, if you’re in the year of our lord 2025, and you’ve rewatched SPN recently, and you haven’t at least said to yourself “Hm. You know what? That seems kinda gay. Yup. I see why people think things.” YOU’RE the delusional one.
