So annoying whenever I mention and refer to real, once living, breathing people in history like Eva Perón or Anastasia Nikolaevna, people always refer to their movies/musicals first. I once wrote an essay about the Mirabal sisters for my Spanish class back in high school, and my teacher said, “Oh, like the movie?” No, like the real women and martyrs. The real stories are so much more human, more personal, more tragic…and more believable because people don’t just randomly dance or burst into impromptu song :)
