and yes other people believed in me and that was really important and to a decent extent shaped my attitudes about myself but also. i believed in myself enough. i saw enough good and potential in me to give myself a chance and i think that is such a huge sign of growth and improvement on my part. and yes i was battling the i’m so afraid of failing that i shouldn’t even do it just in case thing the whole time but i recognized that as it was happening and didn’t let it stop me. even when i really felt like i should, just to prevent humiliation and shame. and then believing in myself worked because as it turns out, there is enough of me that is genuinely worth believing in 🩷
