Finally finished Tangled the Series yesterday, and yes I know, I'm late bc it ended when, in 2020? but you know what, once a piece of media is over, it's never too late to get acquainted with it ever.
I watched the movie the year it was out and liked it very very much, so when I heard about the series I was kinda afraid to watch it? like, I thought it could ruin the magic of love between Rapunzel and Eugene for me, I felt betrayed by authors too much to feel confident in such things so I decided to just ignore it when it was ongoing. So I forgot it existed.
But recently I re-watched the movie with my daughter, remembered there was the series and, as I feel more mature now, I decided to give it a chance and... watched it as fast as my busy life allowed me. I definitely regret that I didn't watch it earlier and didn't join the fandom when it was active, because it actually ACTUALLY represents everything I dreamt to have as a shipper.
Not only Rapunzel and Eugene stay together, but the series shows so many dear and lovely moments with them, they support each other, they care about each other, they SPREAD love and infatuation and romantic tension and it's amazing. As a shipper who isn't used to being fed so much with canon couply material I feel over-fed now haha. No, I ship a lot of pairings and the majority of them is canon (not like I tend to ship only canon couples, no it just happens), but in a lot of cases authors usually try to create drama within the plot by making the main pairing break up as if nothing else can happen to drive the story further. But here - no. TTS does a great job, the drama and problems is something Rapunzel and Eugene solvetogether and never have those as problems that stand between them.
Really, for the first time in so much time I feel so so so content, TTS really sparked a huge flame within me towards Tangled and New Dream that I can't stop thinking of them and their amazing love story. If we talk about the plot in general then of course, the writing wasn't perfect and there were a lot of problems, but romance wise? The main couple is depicted great. Thanks a lot to creators for this gift.
