There was only one thing that would make his sleepiness fade away, the one thing that he woke up in the mornings for, his morning flan. The more he thought about it, the more he could feel his mouth watering.

Kcalb smiled to himself as he entered the kitchen with no one else around. Waking up in the early morning does have it’s benefits, he thought. He looked around, making sure his fellow god, Etihw wasn’t anywhere to be seen. He didn’t want to be teased for eating so much sweets again. He could almost hear their voice complaining about him needing to eat more vegetables. He shook his head, and opened the fridge, expecting to see a small plate with his flan, and his name on it.

Unfortunately, much to Kcalb’s dismay, it wasn’t there. He panicked, shoving other items in the fridge around and frantically looked for it. “Where in god’s name…” He slammed the fridge, and-

“Did you call for me?” Etihw laughed from behind the fridge, a sly grin on their face. Kcalb jumped back, defensively covering himself with his cloak.

“Actually, you are the opposite of what I called.” Kcalb scoffed, lowering his defenses and crossing his arms.

“Aw, I’m a god, you meanie. Your god, to be exact.” Etihw fiddled with something behind their back. Kcalb tried to look, but every time he did, they’d move in a different direction, keeping the devil in anticipation.

Etihw stared at Kcalb as he kept attempting to look behind them. They thought that he looked a little bit like a cat playing with a laser pointer. Not wanting the devil to jump them, they pulled the object out from behind themselves.

Kcalb blinked, processing the display in front of him. Etihw held his flan up like a trophy. That was his flan, and he couldn’t be more upset from them taking it, despite it not being the first time.

“Is this what the little devil wants?” Etihw mocked in their normal playful tone. “Does the devil want his sweet little pudding that all the children here eat? It even has a cat face on it! Oh, look, you’re turning red!” They laughed, reaching a hand over to squeeze Kcalb’s cheek, only to be greeted by him slapping it away angrily.

“Aww, Kcalb, don’t be mad at me. I just like seeing you get flustered. And plus, it’s training for your temper! You didn’t try to kill me this time.”

Kcalb said nothing, but stared deep into their soul. He almost wanted to attack them, but knew that he would definitely get beat and then get mocked for being “old”.

“I’m sorry, old man. I didn’t mean to upset you.”

Kcalb grumbled, “But you do it so often.”

Etihw got closer to Kcalb, setting the flan down on the counter and taking his hands in their hands instead. “To make it up to you, how about I feed you?” the god smiled, rubbing circles into his palms to calm him down.

Kcalb looked away from them, not wanting to give in, but he couldn’t deny the offer.
