Light of Mordor masterpost
Info:
Au based on works of J.R.R. Tolkien and the games Middle earth and the Shadow of Mordor/war games.
During alternative timeline where Sauron was defeated and the one ring never left Celebrimbors hand. However, the ring's original purpose cannot be denied and after a hundreds of years in Teylpe's care it wants to return to its original master once again.
This au is based mainly on the games lore. Of course most events, locations and characters like Talion and Celebrimbor are kept the same with some slight changes to better fit the narrative and vision.
Characters:
Thel Full name: Etheluin Age: aprox. 5700 Height: 203 cm Race: Elf Gender: Female Affiliation: Eregion Occupation: Princess of Eregion Characteristics: Long raven blue hair usually full of small braids on the sides of her head adorned with silver rings and jewelry clipped on them. Tall and more masculine physique compared to other elven women. Facial beauty marks after her father. Personality: Wild, free, hot headed, self sufficient, straightforward. Since childhood was all over the place. Not really in a bad way just very curious and action driven. After some traumatic events a bit more reclusive in some ways. Very good at reading people and not taking anyone's bs. Lore: Only child of the legendary silversmith Celebrimbor. Born in Eregion growing up around her peers dwarves and other occupants or the realm. She had a pretty calm and standard childhood, eagerly watching her father work listening to all the stories he told her about the old times, battles, adventures and heroes that made her into a curious and un stopable child. Always running somewhere exploring. During the second age when Annatar came and started to work with her father she already sensed something was wrong with this "lord of gifts" unable to point or prove anything. Before he was uncovered it was already too late and she and her mother were taken as hostages by Sauron to blackmail Celebrimbor. Facing imprisonment was not easy on either of them. Her mother tried her best to shield still a child Thel from the true horrors of that time but there was only so much she could do to ease the pain. Eventually Sauron and his forces were defeated and they all reunited again. But the damage was already done. When the dust of the war settled and overall darkness faded away her mother decided to leave for the undying lands. Even with war over she had to leave unable to recover from what she has gone through. She offered Thel to come with her in case she felt the same. But Thel wanted to watch over her father and make sure such evil would never prevail again. Upcoming years were hard for still somewhat young princess. With her mother gone and father processing the whole situation himself, burdened with grief and guilt, it took them a while before the scars healed. But eventually they learned how to cope and managed to get things somewhat back to what they once were. Of course it took Thel long time to heal and to fully trust her father again. However she never gave up on him and he tried his best to fix his mistakes. For example he insisted to accompany her on her daily runs around the forests for the longest time not wanting her off his sight too much. The walks were somewhat silent at first but gradually they started to talk and train and overall bond back together. With determination to never let anything happen to herself or her people she trained hard and grew into a very skilled warrior. With fathers training and will to learn she became a true protector of the realm. Now she gets out almost daily and scouts the forests as much as she can to keep a eye out for any possible enemies. Always getting back to her dad covered in mud and sticks in hair.
Dir Full name: Dirhael Age: 21 Height: 175 cm Race: Human Gender: Male Affiliation: Gondorian Occupation: Ranger/junior ranger of the black gate Characteristics: vibrant green eyes, chestnut brown hair and light freckles over nose and under eyes. Mostly wearing some variant of ranger uniform Personality: Bright boy. Smart, happy positive, funny. Bit of a book worm and shy around some people. Always poking and tinkering around weapons of all functions and sizes. But of course doesn't lack that "young boy dumbass" in him. Lore: Born at the Black gate to Ioreth and Talion. As the first son, he of course was a big blessing to the family and everyone around him. Dir's childhood was pretty stable and calm, as much as it can be at the literal gates of Mordor. Growing around some other kids that occupied the fortress and with mostly good enough community around. Of course both of his parents trying their best to raise him for anything that might await him outside. With mothers helping hand he quickly learned how to write and read and ever since then he was eating up any book he could get his hands on. Always rereading and trying to catch every bit of info. Mostly interested in technical and weapon constructions or any kind. Assembling a small trebuchet at the age of 13 and successfully demonstrating its functionality on a poor watchtower that still carries the scars of that evening. Dir got quickly banned from building any larger weapons of destruction (for everyone's safety). So of course he built a very effective hand-sized repeating crossbow at age 16 that went through many upgrades ever since. Even about this piece wasn't Talion very happy about, but in the end he let Dir keep and train with under a promise he will not under any circumstances endanger anyone with it. Talion was always more traditional man and even tho he was not necessarily against Dirhael's technical side he insisted to train him in basic sword combat as well. Sometimes the two of them would go on a few day long trip around the forests surrounding the gate to look around perimeter and bonding next to a campfire. With age, Dir's curiosity and fire only grew. Always trying to one-up himself with every project he started. Weather if its something to ease the basic daily tasks or upgrading the gates defenses. We can't forget about his "gang". His childhood buddies Tuimar, Miyora and Framrin. These guys did almost everything together even tho each of them took somewhat different path around the Black gate tasks they always find a way to somewhat come together at the end of the day and cause some of that healthy chaos around the place. Giving the fortresses a bit of life.
Fram Full name: Framrin Age: 25 Height: 190 cm Race: Human Gender: Male Affiliation: Rohirian Occupation: Ranger of Gondor/messanger Characteristics: long blonde wavy hair shaved on the side. Bright blue eyes and a small scar across his lip. Usually wearing Ranger uniform but detailed with rohirims symbols (horses) and colors. Personality: Alive and energetic. A guy who literally cannot stay in one place for long. Whether its a home or partners or anything else. He needs constant change. The only thing he feels secure and comfortable about are his friends, Talion, horse Petito and raven Clementine Lore: I don't have much on his early childhood but when he was around 9 he met Talion in the city of Edoras. He robbed the ranger of his bag where he carried important documents. Fram was gifted with his hands like that and as a child from the streets you are forced to pick even not so easy looking targets. How would fate have it Talion, already tired from the road was really not in the mood for games. Fram gave the ranger a bit of a chase but inevitably Tal hunted the kid down. Seeing a moutain of a man angrily towering over you, it didn't took too much convincing (he did spun a very good sobstory) to return the stolen goods. Even tho Talion was very annoyed about the chase he was also stunned by the little ones personality, agility and overall spark in the eye. Since Talion was a street kid (just a headcanon) as well his soul couldn't just leave Fram there. He offered the little thief food, community, training, later a stable job and a roof over head at the black gate. Even as a kid Fram knew that was a life changing offer and so he traveled with Talion back. Safe to say Fram never forgot this act of kindness and swore to himself he will spend his life repaying for it. Of course lets not be too dramatic. Talion did took him in and basically raised him but he never holded it over his head. He knew more than anyone that even tho Fram would do anything for him, but as someone needing freedom he would hate the basic soldier life around the gate. So he proposed a mutually beneficial solution. Fram would hold a very important role as his personal messanger, delivering important mail and messages of the highest level and he wouldn't have to sit in a saddle for days and talk to all of the snobby politicians. Fram of course accepted without a thought. This as the most perfect way of feeding his hunger to travel freely meet new people and at the same time having a purpose. Obviously most of the time hes outside but when he comes back the whole gate knows it. He also always brings something for the gang as a souvenir of some kind and is lately Dir's personal book dealer.
Ps: Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes.
