Amira and Belinda Esquivel were children of a woman of the night, who was chasing solace from her mental illness in any way she could.
Unfortunately, that didn't go well, as it usually doesn't. She lost both babies, and died in an icu only months later from an overdose.
The girls were taken to Sunflower Orphanage, Amira at 7 and Belinda at 2. They hated it there, it wasn't home. And qhere was mama? They missed her, especially Belinda, who was only 2. Amira began making plans immediately, to leave and rescue Belinda after she found a place for them.
But that didn't happen. Amira left, but shortly after Belinda was adopted by an upper class family. And when Amira tried to come back, she was told and ran away again.
From then on, the story of the sisters was split in twain...but they've come together once more.
