Felt like yapping a bit about my modern Hantengu family.
The Hantengu family is disgustingly wealthy. They have a large house in an expensive neighbourhood with a pool in the backyard.
The wealth comes from the families dirty dealings. They run a cafe that is a front for their money laundering and drug-smuggling.
Grandpa preyed on a lot of wealthy women in his youth to swindle them out of their savings.
The clones are actually two sets of twins instead of quadruplets. Sekido and Karaku are 21 while Aizetsu and Urogi are 20. Zohakuten is the youngest brother at 12.
The boys are in a band that plays midwest emo style music. Urogi is the singer and can make up lyrics off the top of his head (he's a Bard in my RPG-obsessed brain.) Sekido is lead guitar while Karaku is on bass, leaving AizetsuĀ on percussion.
The brothers drive a really tacky Jeep that has all of their colours on it. It looks like a clown car.
Sekido
Personality:
Sekido is the most responsible of the brothers and takes on the role of mother hen. He refuses to let anyone help him with domestic duties because he doesn't trust anyone but himself to do things correctly. A real martyr thisĀ one is. His brothers jokingly refer to him as "Mom" and he treats Zohakuten as though he were his child.
Just like his demon-self, he has a short temper and is prone to fits of anger.
He's also rather old-fashioned in a lot of his ways.
Despite his abrasive demeanor, Sekido is quite gentlemanly. If you don't bother him or get in his way, you'll be fine.
Always has to be the one driving; he can't stand to let anyone else have the slightest amount of control.
Runs the cafe as though it were a naval ship. Everything needs to be done in a particular way. If a customer asks to speak to the manager, they're going to have a bad time.
Style:Ā
Dresses similar to a K-pop idol - tailored pieces but made from flamboyant fabrics.Ā
Lots of gold jewelry.
Has a ridiculously flowy red silk bathrobe. He has to be dramatic as he stomps about the house.
The only brother who does not have his symbol tattooed on him; he's an old fuddy-duddy that doesn't believe in body modifications.
Relationships:
Isn't interested in women his own age and prefers older women; they're closer to his maturity level.
Given his old-fashioned nature, he moves slowly in relationships and takes things seriously.
Karaku
Personality:
Just like his demon counterpart, Karaku is a hedonist; he's always chasing the next high. He has a drug habit that's fueled by the family business and has absolutely gone on benders.
He has zero impulse-control and will do whatever he wants without hesitation. If he has an idea for a tattoo, he'll go out and get it done immediately. If he suddenly decides he wants a Ferrari, he'll drop cash on one without a second thought.
Karaku is a useless hump when it comes to doing anything around the house. He's usually glued to the couch. When he is forced to do something, he'll engage in some malicious compliance and do a terrible job so he won't be asked to do it again.
Cannot roll himself out of bed at a reasonable hour, so he works the night shift at the cafe with Urogi.
Style:
Dresses like a member of the yakuza.
Has a collection of brightly coloured dagger collar shirts from the 70's with fun prints.
Usually rocking a pair of vintage aviators to hide his bloodshot eyes.
Collects designer watches.
Has a few tattoos, most notablyĀ a dragon swirling around his arm and an oni-mask on his chest. His symbol is tattooed on his inner wrist.
Is very vain and wears too much cologne.
Relationships:
Shockingly, he's a virgin. Not due to lack of opportunity, but he's picky about who he spends time with.
He's grossed out by people who act too lasciviously towards him and hates the idea of someone only wanting him for his body (probably some residual trauma from being overly sexualized as a demon.)
Urogi
Personality:Ā
Urogi is a friendly, outgoing lad. He'll talk to just about anyone. That's not to say he doesn't have a mean streak; but he's hard to anger and tries to get along with everyone.
Is the peace-keeper in the family. If his brothers are fighting, he tries to find a resolution.
Urogi has a lot of artistic talent and is generally free-spirited and creative. He's on the hyperactive side and rarely sits still.
He's the most physically affectionate of the brothers and will always hug them or lean against them (much to their annoyance).
Urogi is the king of parties and always knows where to find a good time. He has a large circle of friends. I see him as kind of being like Dionysus
Style:
Dresses in a bohemian style - think harem pants, birkenstock sandals, fun shirts, etc.
Wears a lot of beaded jewelry that he made himself.
Has a large tattoo of wings on his back.
His symbol is tattooed on his shoulder.
Because Urogi only has three fingers in canon, I decided that his ring and pinky fingers are actually fused. Despite this, he's still quite dexterous.
Relationships:
Urogi has the most active sex-life of the brothers (birds are kind of weird sex-freaks, so it's fitting).
Doesn't have a steady partner, but is seeing a lot of people of all genders casually.
This man is the king of rizz. He can pull someone within second by making a well-timed joke.
Aizetsu
Personality:
Despite appearances, AizetsuĀ is the most manipulative of the brothers. He'll play up being sad and meek, but it's all an act to get his way.
He's always sliding in a bitchy comment.
Is second-in-command of the house next to Sekido (the other two can't be trusted to do anything right).Ā
AizetsuĀ spends a lot of time gaming, reading, or engaging in other introverted activities. He hates going out of the house.
He's the smartest of the brothers, but his depression can get in the way of accomplishing things.
Is prone to crashing out.
Style:
Wears a lot of athletic wear, especially Adidas tracksuits.
Although perceived as nerdy and weak, AizetsuĀ is actually the most physically fit. When he takes his shirt off, he has the most muscle mass.
His symbol is tattooed in the form of a tramp-stamp; Karaku and Urogi bullied him into it.
His gaming headset has oni horns on it.
You know he has a maid cat-girl outfit tucked away in his closet.
Relationships:
Is in a steady relationship with a girl he met in a gaming Discord. Her name is Tina and she's a stereotypical valley girl who dresses like an 80's Barbie. His brothers don't believe she's real.
Zohakuten
He's one of those kids that's obsessed with dragons. His room is filled with dragon figures and he has a dragon kigurumi he likes to wear.
While his brothers share a room, Zohakuten gets his own room (complete with a private bathroom because that diva is not sharing.) He is the baby, afterall.
He plays a lot of online games; yep, he's a FortniteĀ kid.
Does not listen to anyone but Sekido.
Zohakuten demands the princess treatment. If he's at a friend's house, you will come and pick him up. He is not walking.Ā
Kid's got a mouth on him.
Hantengu
Grandpa absolutely plays up being a senile old man to get away with things. He loves being the victim and being helpless. He's a wiley trickster; it's how he's gotten away with everything so far.
Is basically Sophia Petrillo fromĀ The Golden Girls.Ā He'll say things like "Picture it: It was the Edo era..."
Grandpa canĀ often be found wandering around the backyard inĀ nothingĀ but a goldĀ speedo as he skims the pool.
When it's time for him to take his medication, he can be hard to catch. He's surprisinglyĀ mobile for anĀ elderly man. It's like playing a live-action version of Mousetrap to catch him.
Drives a Lamborghini that he likes to drive around the neighbourhood to flex on people.
Wants his grandsons to get married so they will move out of his house.Ā
Has an ungodly number of ex-wives. Grandpa could get it back in the day.
Urami
Is an angry drunk that rarely leaves his room and is not seen by his sons very oftenly.
It's unknown who mothered the kids (he was never married).Ā
Managi
Usually goes by his artist handle, "Gyokko." He's a sculptor who shows at local galleries.
He's a 7-foot tall industrial goth and is 20-years old. He's a fan of body modification and wears outlandish makeup.
Managi is Grandpa's sugar baby and takes no shit from anyone in that household. You will not change the channel when he's watching television.
