god, i hope nobody burns me for this, but the multishipper in me has bloomed over time so i completely agree tomoyo just deserves joy and love, and itโs satisfying to imagine her finding that, no matter what ship it is. i think clamp intended for her to find that joy through one-sided love of sakura... and while, OF COURSE, MOST OF US think thatโs cruel and awful (it really is) -- as far as canon goes, this is her joy, i guess.
of course, iโm not sure iโm super happy with that and i donโt foresee clamp ever straying from this set up but ;_; in any case it would definitely be really nice if she discovers joy outside of sakura because i really think she does deserve to someday separate from all of that and find love!! i think as a character she is fully capable of doing this but i donโt think clamp will ever go that deep into it... :( iโm so on board with you on #TomoyoDeservesASoulmate though!!
either way, both those ships are great for so many different reasons! like i love thinking about a future fic scenario where tomoyo, after coming of age later on, meets eriol again and they get into all sorts of really deep philosophical conversations and witty banter about love and life, etc., but i also love thinking about tomoyo spending more time with meiling and them both discovering that slowly, their friendship has slowly shifted... โค๏ธ i think the lovely part about multishipping is that itโs all fiction, so you really have the freedom to explore any dynamic that suits your desires/needs!
