Ok lemme explain. The popular sentiment on Eriroxy and why people like it is because they have a couple surface level things in common, he seems like her type and “she can fix him.” I have grown to hate this. A lot.

A reformed rake does not in fact make a good husband and she cannot fix him, sorry! Nor should she be expected to. I think that’s just dumb, weird, EXTREMELY heteronormative reasoning and the only way this ship could be interesting is if you literally use it to deconstruct the “I can fix him” trope.

Ik this novel isn’t at all Eriroxy core it’s some other thing entirely but it’s a spin on another book called Pamela, which is about a girl “fixing” a horrible man and getting with him in the end. The author clearly saw how that getting popular was not a good thing so he wrote a different book on a similar topic that presented it in a more realistic manner.

Virtuous girl x horrible man is kind of what Erifef was also, but she was never really trying to fix him, more so getting him to do what moirails were supposed to do. She clearly wanted to have fun with him as well. Fuck I need to make a dedicated Erifef post so many people get those two wrong and it just makes me SAD. Feferi keeps getting the short end of the stick and it’s genuinely so unfair.

Eriroxy in fanon is virtuous girl x horrible man. So is like, i guess Erinep, that one kinda follows that concept too. There’s a few Eridan ships following x can fix him. Me no likey.

Anyway, Eriroxy, since that’s the one I am fixated on rn.

I don’t think in canon she would even like him since she knows who he is through Fefeta, and even in a timeline where he lived to meet her, I think she’d make easy friends with Feferi, who would probably be still alive if Eridan is (who knows), and not like Eridan as a result. I just don’t see her reciprocating the obvious advances he would make. Even without Feferi’s influence I… hmm. Maybe in that scenario she might? Idk?

There’s also maybe the possibility of her doing it as a self destructive thing??

Idk Roxy that well sorry. She might not do that, and there are different other characters and scenarios better suited for that kinda scenario, I can say that for sure LOL.

Anyway I hate Eriroxy and I think we are seriously sleeping on Roxyfef/Fefroxy, which is just so much better and more plausible. I think Callieroxy is ultimately the best Roxy ship simply because it’s canon and they have a lot of chemistry. (Also I just really like the cherubs)

at the end of the day shipping is just playing with dolls and you can do whatever you want. I am not an exception to self indulgent bullshit because I like Equidan and Pale Erikan neither of which make any sense. I do crossover ships, I do bullshit ships, I’m just like you guys, except I’m Aranea instead of Nepeta/Meulin like everyone else.
