Adieu.
Hello! Howās your weekend so far? Good? Good. This is a post for people who know me through Equus-Sims and/or Equus Community. If thatās not you, you may disregard this post! If that is you but you couldn't care less, you may do the same!
For anyone remaining? Iāll try to be brief. :)
It would have been better to have done this on the forums after the announcements about their respective closures were made. I know. Itās just... Iād never intended to make any sort of announcement about my plans. At all, ever. My sense of self-importance simply isnāt that high (in fact, itās straight up not high) (surprise!) (but thatās a whole other can of worms)
But... Iām getting the cold shoulder from friends (who, I suppose, arenāt too keen on that label anymore?) and nosy questions from strangers and...? I genuinely donāt understand where itās coming from. So I thought it could be a good idea to do this, to try to set matters straight, in case thereās some untruth circulating. And if not, well... at least itāll make for a tidy ending.
So.. I am not following Equus to its next iterations, regardless of what they are, where they are, and whomever is or is not involved in running them. I want it to be clear that this is not because I disapprove of the various changes, because Iāve had a tiff with someone, or because I donāt like XYZ. I leave of my own volition, without bitterness, and wish everyone still involved every happiness. :) I also wish it to be clear that for the moment, this does not mean I am altogether abandoning my stories! Storytelling has been my passion since I was a little girl and I couldnāt give it up if I tried (and I have; it doesnāt work), which means this blog will be staying for a little while longer. Ironically, since stepping back from the community Iāve been the most productive and inspired Iāve been in years, so you can expect to see (and read!) more of Agatha & Co. in the future- if you choose to stick around, of course. If anyone is still reading in the hope of finding a reason⦠I honestly donāt know what to tell you. This isnāt something Iāve decided on a whim. Itās been a long time coming. The way I feel about Equus is different to when I joined it. The game is different, the people are different, my life is different; I am different. And all these differences are just too much now. I donāt feel at home in the community anymore. I donāt often feel better after spending time in it. And thatās how I know itās time to step away. Parting doesnāt just feel right: it feels like a relief. I hope that doesnāt sound high and mighty. Thatās truly not how I mean it. Neither do I want it to sound ungrateful- Iāve met and spoken with some properly wonderful people. Those people are what kept me from crawling back into my introverted corner much earlier on. I am the most socially awkward cretin to curse the earth with her footsteps so I wonāt single you out, but I hope you recognise who you are and understand- even to the smallest extent- how much Iāve treasured your company. You made my day so much better on countless occasions and probably didnāt realise it. Your worth is matchless. ... Thatās enough from me now. Iām sorry this went on so long. If anyone is still interested in keeping in touch, Iāve re-enabled messaging + asks here on Tumblr (I disabled them for a bit due to bots) and... Iāve also [tentatively] linked my long-neglected personalĀ āblogā on the homepage. Itās really nothing to write home about; just a collection of my photography and a lot of musical reblogs, but organising and uploading my photos and stories from my travels is a project I am pursuing for me, so... yeah! Thatās an option too, I guess, if youāre interested in what Iām up to in the real world. Donāt tell me if you are though. Iām shy; Iād perish. But! Iāll stop. Adieu, Equus. We had some fun times!
