Mesospadias

"Mesospadias," a term created within the intersex community by me and @yourfaveisintersex , describes a urethral positioning on ambiguous genitalia where both the terms "vulvar epispadias" and "penile hypospadias" are applicable.

This can mean the urethra is anywhere ranging from just directly underneath the phallus/clitorophallus (as that is where vulvar epispadias is described in its lowest position) to just below the tip/head of the phallus (as that is where penile hypospadias is described in its highest position).

I will not gatekeep this term heavily. I think it can be applicable to anyone with ambiguous genitalia, including those with "milder" forms. People with clitoromegaly, micropenis, any form of having both a vagina/vulva and a penis, pseudophalluses, and all other forms of ambiguous genitalia are welcome to use this label if it accurately describes their urethral positioning. Keep in mind that while anyone with any form of ambiguous genitalia can use the term "mesospadias," it was especially made with people who have both vulvas and penises in mind.

my urethra is way too high, existing above my clitoral hood. When ive tried to find almost anything, between diagrams and other people's experiences im met with either only on Phalluss or people being told they are wrong about what they experience. the first result i got had the top comment being "its probably just the skin folding weird" and the OP of the post outright said they know that they pee from there.

My urethra is right next to my clitoris but I can't tell if that's because it's bigger and the urethra is in a typical location or if it's because my urethra is higher than typical.

i am not sure i will be all thet helpful, but i will give my idea.

firstly, just in case, i am not sure the necessary length pf space between urethra and clitoris for the epispadias. but if i am gonna make an educated guess... peritypical urethra is somewhere in the middle between a clitors and a vagina. and hypospadias is considered around 1 cm or less, then epispadias will probably be the same?? not sure.

secondly, i've heard that specifically for measurments you can make a ruler out of you finger. usually people recommend to use a mirror, but i don't have one, so i use a phone and a flashlight.

thirdly, specifically for the clitoromegaly. i think that the space should be measured between the urethral and the base of the clitoris, so you probably need to move it somehow to see the base?? something like that. the practical details work differently from person to peraon so it's something that only you can figure out.

short answer: i am not entirely sure but i think so, yes

long answer: i am not entirely sure as ambiguous genitalia refers to anything going on that would make it more difficult to discern between a penis or a vagina. while it is a spectrum, i dont think urethra placement alone would make that more difficult. however, vulvar epispadias would have the urethra placement closer to where it would be on a penis, and penile hypospadias would have the placement closer to where it would be on a vulva, so it would make sense to me at least to have those classified as on the ambiguous genitalia spectrum, and if i were to count those it would seem a bit silly to not count all hypo/epispadias regardless of genital setup to be on the spectrum as well
