any music/playlists you listened to while writing?
I am way more likely to write in silence, or to the white noise of people in a cafe, or to a movie/show of the relevant period in the background, BUT if the cafe is too loud or I feel like I need some immersion, I do listen to music deliberately! Mainly this has been a) 1920s music (I have two playlists, one which includes original recordings from the period and one which is all "tribute bands" like the Nighthawks) and b) classical Chinese music (someone else's playlist I sought out). I think I should make one appropriate for the Regency.
hype up one of your writing buds! what of theirs did you enjoy this year?
I love all of my writing buds!! Just a smattering of recs:
Ed and Stede Hide A Body, by @chaotic-neutral-knitter, the LONG awaited follow-up to Slippery When Wet
A_T_Rain (who I've known since proooobably about 2001) has written a ton of great historical fiction/medieval-to-early-modern RPF this year
@stripedroseandsketchpads has written some great Lymond whump this year, but special shoutout to her X-Files fic, Not Quite Strangers
And, of course, all of YOUR amazing fics, from your RPF to your regular AUs to your secret-third-thing-not-exactly-RPF-not-exactly-AU fics! You are doing it like NOBODY else. People particularly need to read Every fugitive hour leaves its mark, a very very interesting take on soulmark AUs
