Michael makes me so sad. Obviously, but I’ve been thinking about the way he gives his statement, and there’s a few lines I’m focused on.
“I do not want to be Michael.”
He says “she did not hesitate” three times and “he trusted her” twice (if I’ve counted right)
“He got… distracted. Let feelings that shouldn’t have been his overwhelm me.” So it was Michael Shelly shining through, what’s left of him desperate to have someone know and understand and get revenge on.
I can’t stop imagining how these lines must be things Michael Shelly thought about himself. I just picture him pacing those hallways in his final hours repeating over and over “I trusted her,” and “she did not hesitate” once he realized what she’d done. How he was desperately wishing he was anyone besides Michael Shelly right now, how he was losing his sanity after looking upon the twisting and going through that door, feeling anger and betrayal.

this joke feels very three stooges, love it.
these children shoot ace and he snatches a rock and knocks the bullet OUT OF THE AIR with it. if you knew he wasn't a certified badass before, well now you have no excuse.
i feel like the funnier these characters are, the more tragic their backstory is going to be.
the bomb looks like a disco ball, and i'm not 100% convinced it isn't.
one piece world definitely has motorcycles, but i like this weird desert dude equivalent.

i like that this guy has traditional hunting gear/ shit, and uses some unique moves that aren't always guns and stuff. ace, of course, can beat him singlehandedly, but it's fine.
again, LOVE popo just running in, dropping off an item, and then leaving.
well if him being their dad ain't cute as shit, i don't know what is.
not as sad as i expected, but still emotional. he's just a dad who loves his kids.
i will always love this overarching theme in the series.
love this line if for no other reason than how incredibly in character it is for luffy.

Gregor attacking (and maybe killing?) an enemy that had surrendered and then IMMEDIATELY going to tell Ashe so she can be mad at him
1) he respects Ashe and wants her to be involved—he missed her
2) he did something that would usually be against his own moral code, can't bring himself to feel guilty about it, and went to tell Ashe because he knew she would be upset about it for him
