This implies Moomins evolved as at least partial carnivores. I wonder what kind of prey these portly fellows would have pursued?
Given there hippo like appearance i believe we can actually nail down a potential ancestor for Moomintrolls. The Enteledont.
Also called the Hell Pig, the enteledont isn't actually related that closely to pigs but does have some relation to hippos, so a distant and highly derived descendant like Moomin could conceivably end up with that Hippo like snout.
