summary: enoch has started shutting everyone out, once he witnesses you killed by a hollow.

Warnings: angst?

ENOCH 'O' CONNOR some would say he was heartless, arrogant and mean at times. but he isn't, or at least he wasn't. he in fact use to be the complete opposite of those things.

it was all because of one person, a girl. and the love of his life. she changed him. she made him someone he never thought he would be. someone who was kind, caring and protective of the other children that resided in the peculiar children's home with him and overall somebody who loved.

her name was y/n l/n. a girl with the ability to shapeshift at any time she pleased.

enoch loved y/n, and she loved him. some would say that they were complete opposites at times. y/n being the outgoing, smart, kind and bubbly type. whereas enoch was the boy that would often shut himself in his room, and  ignore the other children.

but just like a clichè, opposites attract.

however that all changed as soon as barron and the hollows attacked the children's home. and claire a child who had a separate mouth with razor sharp teeth at the back of her head was about to have her eyeballs taken right out of their sockets.

y/n being the kind being she was pushed the younger girl behind her, only to have the hollowghast pick herself up instead while jacob tried to shoot the hollow down, with the crossbow he clutched tightly.

the multiple tongues violently moved around in a frenzy to try and take the h/c haired female's eyeballs. despite y/n's eyes being squeezed tightly shut the best she could.

enoch began to worry at the sight of his girlfriend/love of his life struggle in the strong grasp of the hollow.

he prayed in his head that she would be ok, safe and escape from the clutches of the monster that were not visible to most peculiars.

but his prayers were wrong. she wasn't ok. she was far from it.

as y/n had accidentally opened her eyes again, and that was all it took for the hollowghast to attack. it grabbed both her eyeballs with one of the tongues from the sockets and engulfed them whole. before the h/c haired female's body soon dropped to the floor. completely lifeless.

enoch's eyes soon widened, before filling up with tears as he stared at the body of his dead girlfriend infront of the group. jake then shot an arrow into the hollow's face, which snapped enoch out of his gaze and caused for the boy to rush forward and grab the girl's body. and ushering the other children out the door before he followed out afterwards.

a new feeling of guilt and heartbreak swirled in the pit of enoch's stomach as he carried the limp body close to his chest away from the hollow.

guilt that he wasn't able to save his girlfriend from the terrifying creature.

and heartbreak because he had just lost the one person he had learnt to love. he didn't know what he was going to do without her.

a couple hours later the group of peculiars had managed to defeat barron and the hollows, and reunited with their ymbryne, miss peregrine. where they had to explain how y/n had not made it.

they held a funeral for the h/c haired girl, where all the children were in attendance. but as soon as it ended enoch rushed inside and locked himself into his bedroom. only coming out for food and water every so often.

enoch just couldn't comprehend the fact that he had lost the love of his life to a damn hollowghast.

the multiple memories kept coming back into his thoughts of when she was still with them.

his favourite memory being the one of when she had first arrived in the loop and all the children instantly loved her.

each peculiar child sat at the dining table with miss peregrine was situated at the head of the table and enoch opposite her.

she tapped her fork onto her nearby glass, catching the attention of the children from their own conversations.

"children, we have a new child joining us in the loop now." miss peregrine explained sternly. "so please welcome miss y/n l/n."

as soon as that was said the chatter started up again and in walked a beautiful h/c haired, and e/c eyed female before she took a seat in between emma and olive.

at the first glance of the new female, enoch couldn't help but stare at the girl's beauty. he would certainly be lying if he thought that she definitely wasn't attractive in any way.

but he quickly looked away, before anyone could catch him. and the questions the other children said were asked.

"what's your peculiarity?" one of them questioned curiously. enoch didn't remember which child though as he was only half listening.

y/n just laughed before answering. "i'm a shapeshifter. which means I can turn into anything I want, whenever I want."

oh wow, her laugh. enoch couldn't help but find her laugh to be one of an angels once he heard it. it was simply beautiful and music to his ears.

enoch just wished she was still alive, and got to spend a lot more time with him. heck, he even thought about putting an animal heart into her body, like he did with victor when he died. but miss peregrine simply forbidded him from doing that.

enoch didn't think he'd ever be able to move on at all.

no matter how hard he tried. he would most likely just continue to return to his old ways of shutting people out. now that he didn't have his beautiful girlfriend with him any more. despite how much he wished she was.

Enoch: All I said was that you look good today!
