*Warning discussion of ~SA~murder~cannibalism*

Prologue ~Jimmy is an interesting character to me, he has the worst coping strategies that capitalism can cause. So no disrespect to enneagram 4s out there, ya'll are fascinating. I think he could also be interpreted as a 6 BTW. We don't exactly get to see Jims childhood or him at his healthiest, so he's kinda up for speculation.~

What's Implied About Jimmys Character-

Jimmy is green with envy, the sin of 4s. Green is also a color of growth, hope, and luck. Jimmy had potential but he really embodies the negative associations with the color: greed, inexperience, nausea, stagnancy, and being judgmental. (I love good color theory :3)

Raping Anya confirms that YES Jimmy is a real piece of work. He grasping for any kind of control he can get. It indirectly characterizes Jim as someone who cares more about Curlys opinion than Anyas opinion. The puzzle pieces of Jims dismissal of Anyas input and feelings. People usually rape because they're insecure about their own position of power in society. Of course we knew it was Jimmy who assaulted Anya, because he was already metaphorically raping Curly by disregarding his autonomy. Whether Jimmy knows it or not, he's ripping away any sense of autonomy that Anya and Curly once had. Thanks Capitalism for ignoring/dismissing the mental health of workers. >:(

Cannibalism can symbolize obsession, possession, and an ultimate betrayal. Stealing qualities of someone through consumption, Jimmy stealing Curly's strengths. Symbolic of how Jimmy made Curly sacrifice parts of himself for their comfort/survival. The real world manifestation of Jims hevily dependent relationship with Curly. Curly literally and figuratively allowing the relationship to overpower him. It's fascinating how enneagram 4s longing for the connection with his friend twisted together with the cannibalistic. Jim was the only one that willingly partook in Curly's flesh, the implications are intriguing.

Why I Interpret Jimbo as a 4w3-

I think Jimbo yearns for normalcy(Imagining himself being a beloved captain). His thoughts and emotions are very past focused, he's focusing on his past sins, as a way of self punishment. However self-consuming overcorrection is not going to "fix" his past crimes.

I think Jimbo has a three wing, because he likes attention and is a more competitive person. He's not as antisocial as the 4w5 counterpart. He also cares a lot about his social image.(probably partially why he crashed the ship in the first place.)

The move to 2 under stress is very clear. He shows his martyr complex to Anya, and emotionally manipulates Daisuke. He's "helping people"....but reality says otherwise. Jimbo discounts peoples opinions, advice, and support.

4s red-flag fear is the fear that tire ruining their life and waisting their opportunities. What an ironic fear considering what Jimmy did/does to "his" crew.

Potential Pathology for 4s: Severe Depression, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, crimes of passion murder & suicide.(Sounds a lot like our Jimmy.)
