not to disagree with your post on the korean military at all (bc I think you make some great points), but just genuinely curious who you're directing them at bc I've seen nothing about minsung secretly getting married or smth along those lines here on tumblr (which is currently my only social media). the minsung tag is predominantly filled with fanfiction and fanart with the occasional gifsets and videos. I assume you saw something on instagram or twitter, so I'm curious why you're posting your rants here instead of another social media platform where the posts/stans you're referencing actually come from
honestly a great q! my answer is a few parts
mechanically idk how to shut the fuck up (this reply is exhibit a lol) and tumblr lets me make longgg posts so it wins by default lmao i don’t want to directly engage with the content i see on other platforms because i prefer the “did y’all see this shit??” type vibe. yknow john mulaney’s bit about the new york post? consider me a more well researched old person yelling “elin screams beat it bozo!” lmao
initially when i started this blog i was just yelling into the void about stuff i saw, and that’s still kinda what i do, just with less void 💜 consider this more like a commentary blog about fandom happenings at large as opposed to just the fandom here.
now that my blog actually has people engaging with it, though, i have been considering changing up how i tag stuff so it can have archival value, but also reach main tags when needed, and opt out of main tags when i don’t want stuff there. this info is super helpful in my pondering about that so thank you!
there are skz fans like the ones i’m describing on here because i’ve seen them, and they often find me, but they just aren’t as popular on here. i don’t usually go that in depth on minsung, though, so i do appreciate the feedback of what that fandom is like on tumblr dot com specifically.
i feel sometimes on tumblr my anti-delulu stuff is like getting in on the ground floor. maybe some fans that haven’t become completely lost in the sauce are still reachable with the conversations we have on here, and i try to dispel what i see on other platforms. threads, tiktok, youtube, and twitter aren’t platforms meant for these kinds of discussions based on how they’re designed, and threads and twitter especially have algorithms that breed hostility. i’m not interested in that.
maybe most importantly, though, stray kids doesn’t use tumblr anymore. the biggest reason why i yap here is because it is completely a fan space. if skz are still here, they keep it quiet. my blog isn’t meant to be seen by anyone other than fans, and this is the safest place for me to do that. could you imagine these posts ending up on bang chan’s feed?? i’d pass away i fear lmao i actually recently even said like if they reveal they’re still on tumblr this blog will be gone with a quickness haha
i really appreciate the feedback on this, i’ll continue to let it percolate as i try to figure out the best way to do my thing without too heavily messing with the ecosystem of what’s here already. thank you!!
