Yes. First he was attacked by the demon Mara, in the form of psychological illusions and worldly attachments, which he overcame to reach Enlightenment.

Gautama Buddha was attacked by a crazed serial killer called Angulimala, whom he deliberately tracked down and convinced to mend his ways.

According to Hinduism our biological parents made us and they are our first gods - and if you please you may worship them and them alone.

The Veda says:–

mātru devo bhava — let your mother be your first god for she carried you in her womb for 9 months and gave birth to you with great tribulation.

pitru devo bhava — let your father be your second god, because he is the one that nurtured, raised and protected you.

ācārya devo bhava — let you teacher be your third god because through instruction you obtain a “second” birth into knowledge and a career pathway which will sustain you in the world.

atithi devo bhava — let the stranger you encounter be your fourth god. The duty of hospitality is paramount in a civilized society and is one of the greatest acts of worship. Ensure that all other members of your society especially the less fortunate are fed, clothed and cared for as they too are your support network and you owe society a duty of care — all members of society should be treated as gods that’s why we Hindus say NAMASTE when we greet you which means “I salute the divinity which is within you!”.

According to Sanatana Dharma, human consciousness is not fundamentally different from that of other life forms. It is the same universal consciousness, the same Atman in all life forms. The same jivatman may have been in a cow body recently, a human body today, and soon in some other life form.

Beyond logic (Mind) the heart penetrates. Words which are spoken with heart and realization penetrates deep. It shows you the reflection of the truth.

What Ramakrishna Paramhansa said, “Was the words of realization, direct experience, presence so Vivekananda had to be affected for sure.”

So Vivekananda used to ask and inquire with everybody he met, “Have you seen God?”

If such questions are asked to anybody, one would be in dither because everybody’s God is on belief. In the Book “Yoddha sanyaasi” it is mentioned Vivekananda asked Ramakrishna, “Have you seen God?”

One of the Twenty-One Taras was incarnated as the Tibetan princess Yeshe Dawa, who was told that she could not attain Enlightenment in a female body, but rather that she should serve men and pray for a male rebirth. She vowed to reach Enlightenment in a female body and to then remain in the world as an example that this is possible, and she did it. Thus she stands as a role model to female Buddhists.
