What made a logical person like Vivekananda become a disciple of Ramakrishna?
Beyond logic (Mind) the heart penetrates. Words which are spoken with heart and realization penetrates deep. It shows you the reflection of the truth.
What Ramakrishna Paramhansa said, “Was the words of realization, direct experience, presence so Vivekananda had to be affected for sure.”
So Vivekananda used to ask and inquire with everybody he met, “Have you seen God?”
If such questions are asked to anybody, one would be in dither because everybody’s God is on belief. Parents are worshipping, priests do worship in temple and if somebody tries to ask question about God, we just tell to follow blindly and if we will ignore God then we are conditioned by telling athiests are burn in hell.”
One who has realization about God could only answer and satisfy young Narendra (Vivekananda) quest and thirst.
In the Book “Yoddha sanyaasi” it is mentioned Vivekananda asked Ramakrishna, “Have you seen God?”
Ramakrishna Paramhansa answered, “yes I have seen, do you want to experience?”
Vivekananda was taken a back with this statement, now he thought this man is not same like others.
But still this answer was not something which could turn Young Narendra to accept Ramakrishna as his guru. But yes, he liked him and used to pay visit there often.
After 6 months, he accepted Ramakrishna as his Guru.
