What did you like about the poem?
OK well, firstly, I did not like it not one speck of an atom. Because I really am
uneducated uncultured
when it comes to Philippine history or anything related to this batshit of a country’s written works. So, no, I don't like it, mostly because it doesn't intrigue me.
How did the poem make you feel?
I certainly relate to that SCARY JESUS STARING AT YOU when it comes to painting and sculptures. Do you even know how creepy it feels when you have that slight shiver up your spine, nape and shoulder when someone from the second floor faculty office is staring at you when you’re in the covered court in the school grounds but when you look there’s no one there? yea same I know
What was the message you got from the poem?
Wait what? there’s a message? How does the poem affect your appreciation of the past and the present? No? I mean, like, it’s nice how we have liberty now to do stuff, although I kinda feel like it’s martial law because of curfew and restrictions but in all honesty it must’ve been hella harsh back then. Imagine going for a nice and peaceful midnight stroll down the countryside and some dude in a military uniform beats your gaudy ass off the street and kills you instantly, never to be seen again, that wouldn’t honestly be pleasant in general. I suppose the Philippines got a taste of what it feels like to live in North Korea before North Korea was North Korea back a few decades ago.
