As the all-out war between Rick Grimes’ gang & Negan’s Saviors reaches its’ climactic conclusion, so does the 8th Season of “The Walking Dead” (AMC). 💀 Loss of humanity, accepting one’s past sins, surpassing weaknesses through strengths, letting go, and learning to forgive, those are among the many themes explored in what was a decent season, which despite having an abundant of flaws and irritating characters (their choices/actions included) *cough* Daryl Dixon *cough*, has plenty of emotional, heart wrenching, as well as heartwarming moments between characters, regardless of where they stand, for the notion of “right” or “wrong” is almost nonexistent in the post-apocalyptic world mankind is set in. Whether humanity themselves are “The Walking Dead” or there remains those who still fight for a future after all the killings are done, if even possible, their choices and actions will have severe consequences. 5 Similarities & Differences between “The Last Of Us” & “LISA: The Painful”: 1) Stories centers on a middle aged man guiding/protecting a young girl. 2) Joel & Bradley “Brad” Armstrong, two men who’ve known nothing but pain, violence, and survival. 3) Ellie & Lil’ Buddy, two young girls raised during the post-apocalypse, fate no child should be brought in. 4) Both men are overly protective of the young girls who came into their lives. Joel sees the daughter he’s lost in Ellie, while Brad sees Buddy as his “second chance” at life. 5) The world they occupy are filled with murderers, rapists, cannibals, and every inhuman monsters known to man. (Differences): 1) Joel commits to protecting Ellie at the cost of his own humanity. Brad undergoes a dark odyssey, which eventually leads to his demise. 2) Ellie never learns of Joel’s actions at the end of their journey.
