@endlessfebrvary didn't ask for this
Itās Friday, the one day of the week where Jeremiah only has a morning class and the rest of the day to himself. Heās staring at the clock for the duration of the lesson, knee jerking up and down viciously as he waits for the hour and a half to tick by. Itās the longest ninety minutes of his life, he thinks, but heās finally free and has to dislodge himself from a few students who want Adderall or Xanax or some snow.
Yeah, yeah, I got you, later, weāll link up. He says, and dismisses them with the wave of his hand before heās off and out, heading on public transit to the nearest Best Buy so he can make good on a promise heās made to a boy he likes more than heās liked anyone in⦠well, ever, probably.
The realization of that makes Jeremiah blush, and he dips his head, like anyoneās going to notice.
He rushes into the store and asks for help immediately, knows what he wants. When heās done with the purchase, he heads back to his apartment and looks through the closet for some wrapping paper he knows is there. He finds it at the back, waiting for him, colorful and bright, he pulls the roll of it out and locates tape, ribbon, and goes about wrapping the paper. He pulls up a YouTube tutorial just to make sure itās perfect. And it is with itās frilly ribbons that he made curly with the edge of his scissors.
Now, just to deliver it.
He changes, first, into something cuter and less smelly (heād been sweaty from anxiety and the quick trip across the city, the wrapping of the present), then grabs his wrapped gift and orders an Uber. No buses or subway with this in tow, no, thatād just be asking for trouble. Heās nervous, leg jerking, the whole way over to Lukeās apartment.
When he arrives, he texts Luke from the back of the Uber, then thanks the driver, heads out. He takes the steps up to Lukeās door slowly, carefully carrying his package. When he gets there, he sets the thing down at his feet to knock then quickly picks it back up again, waiting for the other young man to answer the door. When he does, Jerās all smiles.
āSurprise!ā He says, thrusting the large box into the otherās hands. āHappy Friday.ā
