On June 4 2017 my Mom, Dad, brother and I went to Enchanted Kingdom. My first ride when we got there was the smallest roller coaster I have seen. I also went on the Anchors away ride which was not that scary, maybe because I was seated in the middle of the ship. I wandered around and then I found a ride with boats with guns that shoot water. I was able to wet other riders and I got wet myself.
I played many games that cost money, just like my favorite one - laser mission. I actually failed the laser mission because I picked the medium level thinking that it would be easy but it wasn’t. I enjoyed though. After that failure somehow my mom convinced me to ride the flying fiesta. It wasn’t my day because it rained while we were riding it. Since it rained, we played a 3D game with werewolves. In the first round I was in 1st place but 2nd round I fell to 3rd, I blame the busted controller.
After we played the 3d game, it stopped raining, so we checked out hte paintball. Sadly, you have to be 13 to be able to play. I wasn’t allowed so we went to the Agila ride. It was great experience with a whole stay to it. We were able to see the beautiful parts of the Phillipines. After the Agila ride we went to my favorite ride, the RIO Grande which is a ride made to get you wet. My brother got the first wave of water but in my opinion I got wet the most.
I would cherish the experience I had that day. I learned that I could somehow conquer my fears at the same time have a blast. I would definitely want to be back there and hopefully, be able to get into the other rides.

In the pursuit of Tomas Claudio Colleges especially the College of Business and Accountancy headed by the dean, Mrs. Estela G. Pascual, CPA, MBA, to get the students involved not only to be academically competitive but also to be exposed to the business world as a preparation to their chosen career, the students attended the 5th Business and Accountancy Students Congress (BASC). It was held on February 28, 2016, Sunday at the Enchanting Events Place, Enchanted Kingdom, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna. Upholding its noble goal of bringing pride and honor to the professional through scholastic development, socio- cultural cognizance and responsible leadership, this Student Congress is depicted with the theme: “ASEAN Professionals at the Gates. Be Ready.” which is organized by Association of Certified Public Accountants in Education Region IV, (ACPAE-IV) Inc.
The program started with the Eucharistic Celebration to honor the presence of God in this congress. It was then followed by the greetings of Prof. Win Ballada, CPA, MBA, as he welcomed all the delegates of this congress. He, then introduced the technical speaker in person of the HR Man, Mr. Leo Gellor, the vice president of People Management of the Philippines (PMAP) and the president of Gellor Business Management, Inc. Mr. Gellor discussed about the ASEAN. He further emphasized that Vietman starting to develop just like what the Philippines is now experiencing right now. Furthermore, he inform the delegates that the Philippines is on the 65th spot of the most competitive global index making them proud of. He added that there’s a yearly jump of 10th position from the previous year. To sustain or better attain the goal of becoming the most competitive and reaching more success, Mr. Gellor gave the delegates three steps to do this, namely, run with triggers, expand your business and jobs beyond the Philippines and establish presence across ASEAN. His message made the delegates proud and inspire them to be competitive by starting it with themselves. After his speech, he was given a plaque of appreciation.
Then, the next speaker was introduced by Prof. Ballada. He is the keynote speaker, Batangas Cong./Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, CPA. Hon. Mandanas said, “Nasa mga kabataan ang pagkakataon para maibalik ang pag-unlad ng Pilipinas.” He further added that the true investment is studying and the portrayal of moral values. For him, the delegates especially the youth should be leaders. He also advised the delegates to make the right choice who to vote this coming election. He emphasized that the corruption of the best is the worst. Just like the previous speaker, he was given a plaque of appreciation for contributing his time and knowledge in this event.
Prof Win Ballada didn’t missed the chance to share his knowledge to the delegates. Being a scholar and CPA Board Exam 2nd placer, author of “Made Easy” and an academian, it seems that most of the delegates wanted to listen to him. He told that professionals are the key for success. He further added that his advocacy together with the ASEAN Party-list where he is the 1st nominee, “Isang Professional sa Bawat Pamilya”. He added that they seek to represent professionals as well as the students and out-of-the school youth to champion. They also have the principled and competent leadership and integrity in public service. They are also aiming for a quality education for all, faculty and student development support thru scholarships and subsidies and then will propose income tax reform which will promote ease of doing business which is inclusive of growth.
After his message and campaign for his party-list, he then give the stage to the next speaker who is Dr. Eunice Aclan. Dr. Aclan discussed the soft skills necessary for the 21st century knowledge economy and for the ASEAN Integration. She emphasized that soft skills are greatly needed for everyone to become competitive. She enumerated all the skills and how to have those. To make the discussion more attractive, it was then followed by a video presentation regarding the different soft skills.
To entertain everyone while having their lunch, intermission numbers are being conducted making the crowd feel more relax while eating.
Since, most of the delegates are taking accounting degree, the last speaker is from PTRC CPA Review who is the director of the said review school, Prof. Rey Ocampo, CPA, MBA. He talked about the Accounting Standards Updates. He talks about the latest news about the new CPA Board Exam which will took effect on 2017. To make the discussion more informative, he compared the current board exam subjects with the new ones. He then discussed New Accounting Standards IFRS 16 and clarifications on PFRS 9. He also highlights the reduction in number of board exam subjects and the merger of the current subjects into one subject. He then, added the segregation of tax and law which is useful in determining which one makes the examinees rigid to pass the current Business Law and Taxation subject. This is the most informative part of the Student Congress as the delegates especially the students become fully aware of the said amendments in the CPA board Examination. Of course, the seminar was not completed without the acknowledgement of the organizers, the Enchanted Kingdom, school participants, professors, deans and delegates who helped to make the seminar a success one.
After the Student Congress is the 1st ASEAN Cup while the other delegates are given their time to enjoy the rides at the Enchanted Kingdom. Overall all, the 5th Business and Accountancy Students Congress (BASC) is a successful one except for some matters that the speakers who are already confirmed stated in the invitation letter can’t make it to the actual event. However, let’s face the reality that unexpected situations really are always present which must we should always be ready. Perhaps, the organizers of the said event is ready to make adjustments for others speakers and make no dull moment. However, it is also clearly evident the most part of the event is for the campaign of the said party-list. But then, it was also stated in the theme that it is mostly about the ASEAN. This seminar is a fruitful one as it engaged the student in the seminar related to their field of profession.
