NO.
there should be a slice of life series expanding on the existing characters and the townspeople maybe even new characters. I cant for the life of me think of a plot that would work for a sequel that would work without ruining the first movie
Idk if I’m the only one that thinks this, but I really think that Encanto could actually use a sequel series similar to Tangled the Series which expands on the overall lore. I’m not one to normally support spin-offs series made by Disney but just thinking about how much potential there is to explore the lore more while adding more story and developing other members of La Familia Madrigal (esp Dolores!!!!) Like WOW!!! The potential journeys they could go on! So. Much. POTENTIAL!!
Honestly though, if they choose to continue the story, I really hope they do a series instead of a sequel film that would really give more time to flesh out the story and characters!
I said it before, but I’ll say it again:
The reason why I want to see an Encanto sequel and/or spin-off TV series, is because I think the Madrigal Family still has a lot of unexplored potential.
That, and we haven’t seen all the rooms in Casita (e.g. Luisa’s)
And we haven’t seen how certain characters interact with other certain characters (e.g. there was almost no interaction between Mirabel and Camilo in the movie)
And I know Disney movies don’t really do villains anymore, but it’d be great if the sequel/spin-off show introduced someone, who hates the Madrigals or/and a Supernatural Malevolent Being.
The point is, I want to see an Encanto sequel and/or spin-off show
Make Encanto 2 or Encanto the Series/Mirabel’s Encanto Adventure happen!
If Disney doesn’t give us an entire prequel movie about the triplets with Angie, John and Carolina voicing them then I don’t want any other Encanto universe things

About an Encanto sequel
If Disney ever decides to make a sequel to Encanto (which they should because the movie is amazing), I kinda want it to focus more on Pepa's side of the family.
I love Mirabel, and she was such a good protagonist (likable, funny, emotive, easy to root for), but the movie only focused on the issues that her side of the family were experiencing (Luisa being burdened with too much work, Isabela being forced into a role she didn't want, Mirabel being an outcast, Julieta and Agustín trying to defend their daughter), and so little on the problems Pepa's side of the family had (Pepa's anxiety or Dolores yearning for Mariano).
Also, I doubt that the family would change from one day to another, so it would be cool to see how they handle the shift of paradigm, and the return of Bruno.
A sequel could focus on a stressful event that could trigger the family into questioning how their roles have changed, or could change, like a wedding. Or more specifically, Dolores's wedding, since at the end of the movie we got to see her and Mariano becoming a couple.
The movie could take place a little after Encanto takes place, after Dolores and Mariano had become engaged and are ready to get married. Then it could focus on how her side of the family is dealing with the upcoming wedding, and maybe it can also talk about the pressure that each of them experienced before Encanto took place and that we didn't get to see.
(Also, I'm bitter that none of them got a solo, but they all shared the same song, that wasn't even about them).
super unpopular opinion coming through
Something I hope for the future of the Encanto franchise is that Disney continues to go with the 3D animation style, no matter if we get a full-length movie or a series. Tangled got a series which was changed from 3D animation to 2D cartoons, which was really sad to see in my opinion.
If Disney did that to Encanto, it would take away all the magic of the movie and just feel like a half-assed attempt at keeping the franchise alive by doing the bare minimum when animating.
Please Disney, whatever you decide to do with Encanto in the future, don’t take away the magic and enchantment that only 3D animation can provide for something as beautiful as Encanto.
hi! i have a question, i thought it might be interesting lol, if you could create encanto 2 how would you make it, what events would occur throughout the film and lastly who would you make the main character and side characters and why? if there’s anything else u wanna add feel free <3 ik this is a pretty loaded question but i find it cool to see what you creators think :)!
i actually love that you asked me this because i have so many thoughts about the possibilities for an encanto 2
so if encanto were to have a sequel i feel as if it could only be successful as a prequel or if it was centered around mirabel's children because if the main arc with the family being reconnected after the temporary fall of casita was tied up i almost think there's not much more room for a fleshed out story? there's also the possibility of a tv series which i feel would be most opportune because they missed the opportunity to flesh out camilo, julieta, and dolores' characters in the first and this would give them the opportunity to have a bunch of short episodes where they essentially share their stories because surely all of the family's problems can't be solved with just one song. there's still going to be tons of unresolved tension and repressed emotions from abuela's expectations and all of that doesn't just disappear that easily. if they went down the route of making mirabel's children the protagonists i think it'd feel a bit clunky since a, they'd have to give her a random love interest out of nowhere, and b, we've already gone through the whole story line of generational trauma and being treated as lesser because you don't have a gift. however this 4th generation could give them a chance to tell a story of actually breaking generational trauma instead of just realizing its there and trying to fix it, since it's not exactly that easy. even then you'd have to give all the kids gifts and since the harsh expectations of abuela's aren't there anymore there's not much of a plot because i highly doubt mirabel would harbor the same views as alma since she was the one who called her out on it in the first place. plus unfortunately they might have to kill off either pepa, bruno, julieta or all three because they're estimated to be about 50 years old in the first movie
to answer your question if i had the opportunity i would make encanto its own tv series where we delve a bit deeper into the more underrated and flat characters in the family and attempt to help them work through some of their repressed trauma since they deserve love too
