The boat was larger than Anna had expected it to be. She wasn’t even sure what she was expecting, but it certainly hadn’t been as big as it actually was. Perhaps it was because she’d only known smaller, older crafts like the one that had carried her parents to their doom.

Would the grandeur of this ship be enough to protect her from the same fate?

Of course, a large ship meant far more opportunities to get lost. And somehow, in her wandering, she’d managed to make it deep into the bowels of the ship. She noticed a strange absence of First Class passengers — ANY passengers, really.

Thankfully, a young man who looked like he knew what he was doing passed by.

      “𝓓o you have to stand so close?” Alistair asked, looking over toward the shifter from where he stood. Any sensible person would say that they were standing at a fair enough distance that smell shouldn’t be an issue-- but the supernatural world came with enhanced senses, one of them being smell.  Lifting his hands to adjust the ends of his sleeves on his jacket, Alistair averted his gaze from the man. “I would rather not smell like a wet canine for days on end if you don’t mind.” 

It was an idea she had at three a.m. the night before, a day just dedicated to the two of them along with tons of questions. She had a paper full of questions that she thought of while half asleep. Some she wondered if they were too rude or blunt to ask, but they weren’t for bad intentions, she was just curious. Was all the stories she was told about people being taken by trolls true? Kristoff did not seem that bad of a person to her. Yes he is quiet, very quiet and may not have the best manners in the world, but everyone’s a bit of a fixer upper.

It was now the next day—lunchtime even since the princess overselpt. Glancing at her list of questions was enough to fill her with energy and excitement for the day. Changing into her clothes in record time before running down to the stables of the castle. Bursting open the door and jumping right into things, letting him know that the princess was full of energy.

Toby can’t help but smile, even after bumping into a complete stranger with...practically no dignity. He whistles sharply to get his dog’s attention, and she comes trotting over obediently.

Once he knows she’s safe, he turns his attention the man he bumped into and simultaneously signs and says, “I’m sorry.”

She’d be lying if she’d say she had not heard the rumors. Ya know, about the new kid, Delsin Rowe, the power mimic. Apparently the guy is alright but Jessica didn't want anything to do with getting her powers drained, her memories looked at, or even in turn having a seizure because of that. She's just gunna lay low, and mind her own damn business, as normal.

Then the smoke started bumping into her more and more often. Jesse knew that wasn't hank because he knows how wrathful she can get when fucked with, so it’d have to be the kid. She hadn't really seen him around, other than in big crowds, but the smoke and embers were distinct. She could even smell it before it even passed her.

So Jesse smelled the raging bonfire like smoke coming before it even hit her, quickly forming in front of her, revealing a tall native man she wasn't all too fond of. She was in the middle of trying to open the door to her building, so fingers hoovered centimeters away from the middle of his chest. 

Jessica looked him in the eyes, tucking her hand away before audibly sighing, turning her ass around, and walking back down the steps.

Not today, Satan

Nathan had left the Backwell campus against school regulation and taken the bus to a city he hoped no one would recognize him. (Unfortunately, he was wrong.) He had made his way to the nearest bar.

There he had started drinking and found contact with the first attractive man who showed the first bit of interest in him. (So desperate for affection that he would take it from anyone. So foolish.)

He didn’t remember much other than that, he remembered drinking with him (It wasn’t much!) then being walked along while half-leaning against his chest.

“Did you put something in my drink?” Nathan asked, hearing his own voice echo in his head. (The irony was not lost on him.)

“Of course not,” he answered, managing to sound offended at the notion. As though the idea that Alexi would ever do such a thing was insulting, as though it wasn’t exactly what he’d done.

But sometimes, the easiest way to gain someone’s trust was to help them while they were vulnerable and sometimes, it was easier to make sure they were.
