I’d love to say “Happy Birthday Dad” but that’s all I can do is say that. I can’t say it to you. I still have the card I would have given you on your 53rd Birthday but 26 years ago you left us, died so young. You weren’t perfect but you knew me, better than I knew myself at 20 years old 26 years ago. The gifts you have given me, the belief you had in me and the admiration for my creativity and all the blessings you gave me, even those that I had to stand up for and knocked down and stand up again and again, your knowing who I am is better than all the family added together who will never know me, ever. You told me “You are a kind person Angela, promise me you won’t ever change that” I kept my promise. And I bring others to believe in themselves and their creativity just as you did for me.
