Design
Physics is about observing natural phenomena with attempts to derive laws that explain these phenomena in an effort to unify these explanation laws. Engineers, on the other hand, set out to utilize such laws to design from the start a physical object to perform certain scientific tasks. Whenever physics laws prove to be inadequate, engineers manage to adjust these laws to produce parametrized applications.
The principles of physics - are fundamental, evidence-based rules that explain how matter, energy, space, and time interact, serving as the foundation for predicting natural phenomena. These principles are generally "first principles"âirreducible truths that explain other physical behaviors.
In addition, physics laws are derived from first principles. However, other disciplines, such as chemistry, do not rely on mathematics-based laws and principles that are similar to those found in physics. Rather, chemistry depends heavily on laboratory work for finding suitable reaction paths for applications. It is customary though that chemists establish "empirical laws" and practical relations to sum up a group of experimental results under one formula that can be used for further developments.
Modern physical plasma sciences, some 100 years ago, were developed based on such empirical laws when plasma physicists, mostly in industry, conducted numerous experimentations on certain applications before establishing such "laws". This happened mostly behind the doors of private corporations while other physicists were locked in open debates to advance other abstract topics of physics.

Opanayiko - PÄli Word of the Day
opanayiko [opanayiko]: Referring inwardly; to be brought inward. An epithet for the Dhamma.
The Dhamma is capable of being entered upon and therefore it is worthy to be followed as a part of oneâs life.
From the Dhamma Encyclopedia +
I emphasise the teaching that the Dhamma is opanayiko - to be brought inside oneself - so that the mind knows, understands and experiences the results of the training within itself. If people say you are meditating correctly, donât be too quick to believe them, and similarly, if they say youâre doing it wrong, donât just accept what they say until youâve really practised and found out for yourself. Even if they instruct you in the correct way that leads to enlightenment, this is still just other peopleâs words; you have to take their teachings and apply them until you experience results for yourself right here in the present. That means you must become your own witness, able to confirm the results from within your own mind.
Itâs like the example of the sour fruit. Imagine I told you that a certain fruit tasted sour and invited you to try some of it. You would have to take a bite from it to taste the sourness. Some people would willingly take my word for it if I told them the fruit was sour, but if they simply believed that it was sour without ever tasting it, that belief would be useless (mogha), it wouldnât have any real value or meaning. If you described the fruit as sour, it would be merely going by my perception of it. Only that. The Buddha didnât praise such belief. But then you shouldnât just dismiss it either: investigate it. You must try tasting the fruit for yourself, and by actually experiencing the sour taste, you become your own internal witness. Somebody says itâs sour, so you take it away and, by eating it, find out that it really is sour. Itâs like youâre making double sure - relying on your own experience as well as what other people say. This way you can really have confidence in the authenticity of its sour taste; you have a witness who attests to the truth.
