I think I like Minecraft roleplay shipping so much because I tend to hate a lot of the typical romantic story beats a lot of media comes up with. For example, in a lot of books and shows, I will love a pairing up until they kiss or fuck, because after that a bunch of boring romo slop enters the space where compelling passion and yearning once was. But in Minecraft you can't even try to simulate kissing or fucking in the game without being completely cringe. So instead Minecraft roleplayers have to get creative and do shit like murder homoerotically or become brutally loyal deputies or whatever.
