So I'm late to join the blogging bandwagon but I've been watching Revenge since 2011 and I think it's finally time.
As a huge Revenge fan I'm annoyed at myself from not posting about how I've felt about each episode sooner but todays episode from season 4 episode 10 has pushed me over the edge.
Spoilers in this post so prepare yourselves...
I am BLOODY annoyed that the writers decided to kill Daniel Grayson, BLOODY ANNOYED. So annoyed that I don't even know how the season will continue without him. He is a...well WAS an...incredible multi-dimensional character that was just redeeming himself this season. I was personally enjoying watching him grow and become a kinder, better person and I was loving the Emily and Daniel scenes the past episodes before his death.
I loved Daniel Grayson from day 1 and throughout this entire past 3 seasons still hoped that he would be the one to end up with Emily as that would be the most logical ending.
Why he has died?? Well according to Latintimes article published last year
...Daniel Grayson on the hit ABC soap opera recently called for his iconic and rather central character to be killed off. "I'm trying to pitch a Daniel death by the end of the season," Bowman told TV Guide. "I love working on the show, but I'm just being honest. My character has flip-flopped the most, and it's been so hard for me to play."
So whether Daniels death this episode was Joshua Bowmans personal decision or the writers choice, I'm still annoyed as after Aidens death from last season, I was not ready to lose Daniel, especially not after so many hints that there might have been something with Emily.
Having had Daniel in the very first episode of Revenge I cannot imagine this season without him :(
Boo you Josh and boo you Revenge writers.
Stand out moments in tonights episode:
"You’re still telling me a lie"
“It wasn’t all a lie....not with you"
Emily Van Camp and Joshua Bowman being a couple in real life obviously enhances their on screen chemistry by 110%, however watching that scene with him dying in her arms was heart breaking.
This whole time I haven't even given a shit about Margeaux and the baby situation and even in the very last moment was hoping she'd be the one to die and not Daniel Grayson.
What can I say...Dear Revenge writers, a huge screw you for breaking my heart like this.
But at the same time I can see how non-Daniel fans will see this as brilliant story. Daniel shot Emily after discovering she was pregnant and made her sterile. I will never forget how ruthless he was to her and how cruel he treated her. He didn't deserve to be a father and this was the perfect time to take that away from him. He died in the arms of a woman he destroyed motherhood in only after realising that all she had wanted to do was to expose the truth.
Karma is a bitch, getting shot just like he had shot her on the boat and all I can think of to match this moment is
"what goes around comes back around"
