Summary:
Mental shutdowns? That… certainly sounds alarming. Akira reaches down to his pocket before remembering. His old phone had been confiscated before he was sent here. He'd been given a throwaway phone in the form of a flip phone. The train slid into a tunnel, and out of the corner of his eye he saw a pair of glowing golden eyes shine in the darkness. The fluorescent lights of the train flickered on as Akira whips his head around in an attempt to get a better look. But there was… nothing there?
He must have imagined it. Right?

It's been a day. Currently in tears over eating pizza rolls for the first time in like 15 years and it tastes like childhood. Maybe its the rum.
Anyway, I'm going to drown myself in my Zero acrylics and cells in order to write a bit tonight because I'm so close to being done with this chapter.
Ajdjsksj okay so posting about it in the hopes that it encourages me to actually write the damn thing but plans for that The Eagle (of the Ninth) fic that I’ve had the vaguest idea for for literally like…. Idk over a decade:
Alternate beginning where Marcus and Esca meet prior to Marcus’s injury, while he’s still Cohort Centurion
Lots of complicated messy getting to know each other in a different setting and context than either the book or the movie
Incorporating some of my favorite scenes/side-plots from the book that weren’t in the movie (Cub I’m talking about Cub)
Esca’s POV leading up to and during the scene where Marcus does get injured and maybe also the days immediately following
Possible switch between Marcus’s and Esca’s POVs between chapters?

The original idea I had years ago was different but still involved Esca having to be in a military encampment/situation with Marcus so either way I get all the feels I was originally going for

…..might have like a little Yasha-centric one-shot planned for the CR fem-fic event. Just wrote out a super rough draft and like it’ll be short af, probably lucky to make 500 words but I mean?? It’s writing??? So we’ll see I guess?? If I can manage one fic for the gen!week and one fic for the ship!week I think I’d be pretty happy.
