I'm trying to get caught up with Critical Role again, and I recently finished watching Downfall, so now here I am looking for fics about Purvan "it's a common name where I'm from" Suul raising Emhira. And maybe it's that time of year, or it's my Catholic schooling, but the Jesus parallels are too real.

as always thinking about vex and vax and the dawnfather and the matron. episode one of downfall and emhira reminding the aydin that he can’t save everyone and aydin reminding emhira that they can always try. vex’s last breath begging her husband to save vax. vex coming back and when faced with vax again, insisting that everything can be fine, turning to keyleth and saying We Can Pretend. i’m just chewing on them man. always chewing on them. vex who plays the hardass but with so much relentless and occasionally naive hope in her chest, just like aydin had once. and vax who is a loving prankster turned champion to a god who took time in her godsaving mission to steal an imp from a guard, who is distant and grounded in reality but no less loving for it. god . god . get me out of here

For @artists-guild-of-exandria Calamity Project
I find it interesting that the character that became Patia Por’co was originally supposed to be played by Laura Bailey.
In Calamity we learn that Patia knew the woman who ascended to become the Matron of Ravens.
Then in Downfall, when the Matron reincarnates as Emhira, she’s played by Laura Bailey.
Whether it was an intentional choice or just letting Laura play in a Calamity era story so the whole of the main cast got a chance, I think that’s really cool.
