It's that time again! Join me and park friends on Sunday, March 19th, 8am to 10am for a Bird Walk in Franklin Park. Co-sponsored by the Franklin Park Coalition, Brookline Bird Club, Franklin Park Tennis Association, and the Emerald Necklace Bird Club. Information for participants: Please bring binoculars if you have them. Limited loaner binoculars will be available, provided by Mass Audubon’s Boston Nature Center @massaudubonboston on a first come, first served basis. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, dressing for the weather conditions, and wearing a hat with a brim. Expect to walk 1-2 miles on paved paths. The nearest restrooms are at the Franklin Park Golf Course Clubhouse. In the event of heavy rain, the walk will be canceled. Meeting location: Meet by the tennis courts next to the Shattuck Picnic Grove on Circuit Drive. Google "Shattuck Picnic Grove" for GPS navigation. Street parking is available. Thanks to everyone who came out in the cold this morning to hike with Nature Man Mike and park friends at Franklin Park! Despite the 28° weather, we had a great time! We even got to see some cool birds! I took them to explore different areas they were unaware of. I also showed them areas where they would be eye level with tree tops for great views of Warblers during spring migration.
