usually  these  things  went  on  a  pile  that  jiwoon  later  burned  for  fun.  but  seeing  it  now,  presented  to  him  directly?  it's  as  if  she  has  no  fear.  no  self  preservation. 

   he  should  have  seen  that  one  coming  from  her. 

   he  looks  down  at  it  with  disgust  crawling  over  his  features.  he  doesn't  want  it.  taking  it  can  do  one  of  two  things  -  and  neither  he  likes.  he  encourages  her  here  and  there  -  but  he  won't  encourage  this. 

   “burn  it.”  he  instructs  coldly.  “i  don't  desire  your  feelings.”  he  glares  at  her,  waiting  for  her  to  take  the  damn  thing  back  and  scurry  off  like  a  good  little  rat.

𝐈𝐓  𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐃  𝐀𝐍  𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄  𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐋,  the  utter  lack  of  privacy  within  this  realm  of  otherworldly  making:  the  creeping  fog  appeared  to  feed  not  solely  on  their  innermost  feelings,  but  to  listen  in  on  every  word  uttered  from  trembling  lips.  A  twisted  game,  that’s  what  it  was:  the  way  it  malformed  and  distorted  every  whisper,  every  fear,  into  something  palpable  and  real     —     a  living  nightmare  they  were  forced  to  endure…  for  God  knows  how  long. 

❝   I  know,   ❞  the  ravenette  could  therefore  only  whisper  in  return     —     an  effort  made  at  secrecy  she  knew  was  entirely  in  vain,  yet  one  she  couldn’t  quite  shake  just  yet.  ❝   They  always  find  out.   ❞  A  terrible  truth,  detested  yet  undeniable.  What  had  become  of  her  once-cherished  autonomy,  the  luxury  of  freedom  to  go  wherever  she  pleased?  Its  memory,  bittersweet  as  it  curled  upon  the  tip  of  her  tongue,  was  all  she  seemed  to  have  left.  ❝   But  that  doesn’t  mean  we  can’t  pretend  they  won’t…  just  for  a  moment.   ❞  

   danny  sits,  staring  toward  the  wall  where  a  diploma  with  his  alias  sits  on  dilapidated  walls.  the  rest  of  the  survivors  are  dead.  quick  work.  to  leave  him  and  her  alone.  her  trust  is  surprising  -  he's  a  snake  who  could  turn  if  he  got  bored.  he  lets  a  heavy  exhale  pass  his  lips,  before  bringing  his  cigarette  back  to  his  lips,  mask  set  askew  to  show  that  lower  half  of  his  face. 

   “that  was  on  you.” 

   he's  not  being  nice  about  it.  he  doesn't  need  to  be.  he  was  never  a  kind  person,  and  he's  not  going  to  start  now.  or  ever  -  if  he's  got  anything  to  say  about  the  matter. 

   “you  made  a  piss  poor  choice.”  she  still  is  making  one,  with  him,  but  he's  not  about  to  lose  this.  not  while  he  still  enjoys  it.  “you  stuck  to  him.  he  never  deserved  it.  perhaps  you  did,  making  such  a  stupid  choice.”  he  laughs,  smoke  drifting  from  his  lips.  “but  look  at  you  now.  you  recovered  it.”  not  really.  “you've  got  attention  now,  don't  you,  bunny?”  he  looks  over  to  her,  laughing  darkly. 

   “don't  squander  it.”  he  warns.  “you  get  one  shot  at  this.  do  it  right,  sweetheart.”  he  moves,  leather  clad  hand  gripping  her  chin  harshly,  forcing  her  to  look  into  his  mask.  even  askew,  it  still  obscures  most  of  his  features  -  most  importantly  his  eyes.  well  hidden  behind  the  mask  still.  “don't  bore  me  now.  that  would  be  truly  a  travesty.  wouldn't  wanna  prove  him  right,  would  you?”

   his  hands  are  clasped  behind  his  back  as  he  regards  her.  he  inclines  his  head  to  the  side,  before  stepping  forward,  standing  beside  her  as  he  regards  her  darkest  memory.  he  looks  it  over  idly,  as  if  disinterested  by  it.  used  to  it.

   “you  are.”  his  voice  is  calm  and  concise.  assured.  almost  as  if  to  soothe  -  though  the  coldness  in  it  does  anything  but  soothe.

   “though  you  are  guided  by  my  hand.”  he  reaches  out,  and  time  in  the  memory  stops.  it's  his  playground.  in  her  mind.  memories.  so  easy  to  toy  with.  to  replay.  to  torment  with.  suffering  is  almost  always  worsened  by  ones  own  mind. 

   “what  should  we  look  at  next?”  he  questions,  looking  down  to  her.  “i  wonder  how  many  more  painful  moments  you  have  been  hiding  from  me…  perhaps  you  would  like  to  show  me?”  he  steps  in  front  of  her,  his  hand  reaching  out,  fingers  splayed  out  to  surround  her  face.  he  holds  her  there,  in  a  painful  telekinetic  grip. 

   “or  should  i  simply  rip  them  out  myself?”  he  asks,  smooth  and  cold  -  waiting  for  her  choice.

   “you  know  -  it's  so  funny  to  me.”  the  words  slip  out  like  poison  silk  as  he,  the  ghostface,  advances  on  her,  knife  held  tightly  in  his  hand.  “how  closely  tied  in  these  things  are.”  he  motions  with  his  knife.  “hatred.  love.”  he  leans  in,  that  mask  a  mockery.  his  true  face  holds  a  wicked  smirk,  ice  blue  eyes  lit  up  with  malevolence. 

   “how  quickly  they  develop  into  an  all  consuming  obsession  -  and  before  you  blink  you  realize  you  can't  tell  where  one  emotion  begins  and  the  other  ends.  all  you  think  about  is  them.”  his  knife  trails  down  her  cheek,  blade  lightly  pressing  into  her  skin,  leaving  a  thin  red  line  trailing  down. 

   “i've  become  that  for  you,  haven't  i?”  he  whispers,  leaning  forward,  his  mask  inches  from  her  face.  “can  you  go  a  day  without  thinking  of  me?  my  body  pressed  to  yours,  my  knife  poised  at  your  ribs,  ready  to  twist  your  guts.  my  voice  as  i  taunt  you?”  he  chuckles  darkly. 

   “and  now,  here  you  are.  the  poor  little  lost  bunny.  come  to  the  snakes  den.  right  to  his  teeth.  confessing  with  those  pretty  little  doe  eyes  how  you  cannot  live  without  him  darkening  her  mind.”  his  free  gloved  hand  reaches  out,  grabbing  a  fistful  of  her  hair  and  yanking  her  head  back  with  vicious  force  and  intent. 

   “beg.” 

   the  word  is  said  haughtily,  the  mask  lifting  so  it's  clear  he's  casting  his  gaze  down  upon  her.

   “beg  for  me.”
