friendship headcanons, this time

jess is the messy one in their frienship, emily is super organised, that's why they usually get ready at emily's place (for school, parties, going shopping, or just because they feel like it)

when they get ready at jess' place, em usually tries to motivate jess to clean at least part of the mess, like folding and putting away clothes, cleaning her vanity mirror or organising her make up

emily can't do anything beyond basic hairstyles, she's a perfectionist and gets frustrated when she tries and it doesn't turn out exactly the way she imagined it

jess, however, is very good at anything hair related and whenever emily wants anything more elaborate than a ponytail or a bun jess does her hair

they met when they were 14 after jess' family moved to LA and have been inseparable since (until until dawn [sad face])

they each have an entire section in their closet of clothes with shared custody; one of them loved the item, the other liked it but wasn't sure if it matched their general vibe or the rest of their wardrobe

they both have hundreds of videos they accumulated over the years, usually goofy little interviews, them dancing, singing or both or trying internet challenges they would never post

if they were in different classes, they'd write summaries for each other during the classes they were apart just so the other would know everything that was going on in that class

they begged their parents to allow the other one to join them for family vacations until they said yes

jess had a "crush" on emily's older brother at one point until he actually kind of reciprocated and asked her out, she just felt like part of the family and was confused because she doesn't have any brothers

on jess' first birthday after they became friends emily got her a really nice outfit she'd been dreaming of for a while and jess tried to give emily the same energy for her birthday and commissioned a painting of emily and her cat, they've been trying to one up each other with a gift the other would love since then

they are the only person either of them would read a passage from their diary to

on the rare occasion they can't agree on what to do, eat, etc. they'll play a round of mario kart against each other and whoever wins gets to choose

jess used to be a gymnast and emily used to be a swimmer, they were both competitive enough to get the other to show them certain excercises and techniques to try to get on the same level

they used to call each other the second they woke up for school to make sure neither of them would be late for class

jess needed tutoring at some point and asked em to tutor her, so em invented a code that would help jess with classes while talking and/or gossipping

they used to take a lot of polaroid pictures because they loved the aesthetic and each had a picture of the two of them in their wallet and later in their phone case

in my delusional bisexual, multi- and crackshipping head anything can be true, anon. i agree with you 100%.

(this is just a silly little thing, nothing serious or with a lot of thought behind it)

so just imagine, it's maybe 2 or 3 years after the mountain. they have a group chat, everyone checks in at least periodically. sam and em text every few weeks.

sam just sends a picture every once in a while, often from different countries because she started working for different charities and organisations as a relief worker before maybe taking a job at a natural history museum or the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union Germany (NABU) (my headcanon is still that sam is fluent in german) because it's pretty in line with her goals.

emily moved to europe (she is emily in paris lol) because she needed to get away from north america after a while. maybe she just does one very long or a few shorter internships all over europe while her parents financially support her. maybe she just travels for a few months before even thinking about what to do next. she sends a lot of pictures to the group chat. selfies, food, parties, sights, everything.

Emily Davis <3 (she's very complex and I have a few thoughts abt her).

Lesbian who has suffered from comphet for a very long time.

She had a crush on Jess.

She very paranoid about her friends/partners hurting her due to the whole Jess/Mike thing and it's part of why she's so mean. People can't hurt you if you keep them at an arm's length, y'know. She acts like she's indifferent so if she's betrayed again they won't be able to tell that they've actually upset her. (This is not justification for the way she treats Matt at all, just an explanation).

Her parents are quite distant which led to her acting out as a child/teen to get their attention but after a while she gave up.

She befriended Jess at the start of high school.

Her family are the 2nd richest of the whole group's. Which means if they can't all hang out in Josh's massive fuckoff house they'll show up at Emily's instead.

She likes to host parties at her home but unlike Josh hers tend to be a little more controlled. Nobody wants to do anything that'd land her in trouble because Emily would destroy them.

She's quite artsy, she likes designing things, anything from rooms to clothes. She's got a drawer of these drawings and actually does know how to make clothes.

In school she usually helped design/make the costumes for all the drama kids for their preformances and stuff. (Josh is the one who usually begged her to do it but she actually does enjoy that kind of thing).

She's probably one of the smartest people out of the UD group.

She has borderline personality disorder.

(post-game) Sam becomes a very good friend of hers (bc lets be honest Sam seems to be one of very few ppl who gave 2 shits abt her) and helps her accept her sexuality.

(post-game) Her and Jess mend their relationship. Bc Mike is not worth all that.

Jessica Riley

She did gymnastics as a kid.

She's been friends with Matt since they were like, tiny.

Her and Josh are really good friends. At least up until the prank.

She knows the group through Beth.

She often admires Sam's confidence, as she is pretty insecure herself.

She often puts on a dumb/aloof persona to make herself more funny and likable but she's not actually stupid. Like she's not academic by any means but she's actually decent in school when she puts her mind to it.

She's bisexual.

She's dyslexic.

She has had a crush on Ashley before.

Her bed is full of stuffed animals.

As much as she likes to mess with her friends if anyone actually tried to bully them in school she would single-handedly destroy their reputation. She was a very popular girl in high school.

She has ADHD.
