Alfred: Allow me to introduce you to Ivar “the Boneless” Ragnarsson. That’s right, his nickname is longer than his actual name. Why’s that, Elsewith?
Elsewith: ‘Cause he’s a dick.
Alfred is seeking support from the only person he has left that he can trust in some way and gets rejected. He's alone. And you can't tell me that he didn't realise that right there. Look at his face.

After watching all the Alfred and Elsewith (yes I spell it that way for a reason, when referring to the Vikings version) deleted scenes, I find myself again wondering what was the purpose for her sleeping with Bjorn?
Was it just Hirst being his stupid self? They literally never did anything with it, and from the moment she agreed to marry Alfred, she’s 100% loyal to him and they’re actually really good together (yeah I said it. I actually really enjoy her version.)
So what was the point? Was it just Hirst needing to fuck with the Saxons? I’m just curious on what people’s opinions are. I write both Alfred and Bjorn so I’ve been hard on Bjorn for this, and still am, her too. But, it confuses me.

I love how in this scene, Ubbe and Alfred share their own frame, like everyone is positioned so carefully, that it makes it so easy to draw a line. Without context, this makes it seem like they are having a private conversation, they are speaking about something that they only trust each other with, as the onlookers look on ahead, not close enough to hear them.
Also Ubbe and Alfred are placed so close to each other which shows the audience that they are comfortable around each other.
Whereas, Judith, Elsewith and Torvi are spaced apart from each other. Showing the audience are strangers amongst each other, especially Torvi, who is positioned by herself like an outsider.
Sorry my analytic side just kicked in, I would speak about more but I don’t want to create a long thread 😅
