That morning after an early start at opening the local (and one of the larger) Frost Beauty shops, Anna went off to headquarters. She had planned to stay just until early afternoon--being the sister of the CEO Anna usually had that freedom (unless Elsa said otherwise). There were exceptions she made, though--she would put her needs aside for the employees. Accommodating everyone working at the company was Anna's number one goal even if it did sometimes lead to being taken advantage of. That was her problem, Anna never said no or passed work on. As long as there was a reason or an excuse, she would take over. The benefit of the doubt. That was all. Her children, her nieces and her nephews always came first. She would go home and leave back to work early the next morning if necessary to finish something but tonight was a little different. As she prepared to head home, a frantic man ran towards her explaining that an important project which included not only a presentation but orders and paperwork had been neglected by the employee assigned to it. The work was due to be shipped off the following evening and presented that morning. He had gone on to explain he could stay the night but did ask if overtime would be provided. In a heartbeat, knowing this person had a wife and newborn child to head home to, she said she would take care of it. With the predicted snow storm that night, Anna did not want to risk putting him in danger. Back at home, Maebyn stayed put at the front window. Her mom did send her a text alerting that she would be home late. That was earlier in the afternoon. It was forty past midnight and the storm was horrible. Hands balled up, she tried to calm down. Losing control would make things worse and at this point, with frost from her hands creeping around the window frame. Never had Maebyn let herself go outside in this weather while having an anxiety attack but she slipped on her boots and hurried next door, letting herself inside. If she woke her family up, she had a good excuse. "Auntie El?" She tiptoed up the stairs, her hand steadying herself with the banister (which had began icing over). She needed to breathe, to calm down. Once she realized the banister's condition she pulled away and hugged herself trying to tell herself she was only worried because she loved her mother. "Auntie El! Mom isn't home!" That was screamed almost too loud, in this breathy terrified voice. Back at headquarters, Anna was cuddled in a little ball fast asleep on the floor surrounded by more than 90% of the work complete. The presentation was set for the meeting the next day and the papers sorted to be shipped off. All complete except for sorting the files in the expected format.
