Reigen has a standing appointment between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, which usually lines up very well with Mob’s school schedule. He has told Mob that these are for ‘teleconferences with international clients.’ They are for his favorite shows.

Reigen first started watching telenovelas when he was a kid. While his parents would be working, they would have his aunt take care of him, who would just turn the television to those channels and leave them on throughout the day.

Even in college, Reigen scheduled his classes so he would be able to continue keeping up with his ‘stories.’ 

Many of the dramatic characters, emotions and plots have had a big impact on Reigen, inspiring his con-man tendencies and even his animated speech and gesticulations.

Helios was inspired by quite a few ideas i had rolling around in my head! When I first began to think of ideas for his character, the concept I wanted to go for was basically: the main character of a harem anime, except all the girls who fall in love with him eventually move on from their crush and do other things. Basically, he ends up with no love interest out of any girls, and because theyre his friends and he loves them, he cheers them on all the way!

I wanted him to be the kind of character that is easy to love, but he himself is a very loving and caring person. I wanted him to be a very unselfish character and the type who desires to care and nurture those around him.

As I kept moving along with this idea, I was looking for a place to fit him into my story’s universe. I decided that he would make a good healer-type, so I made him a kind of priest/scientist mix, and stuck him in a role I wanted filled: a teacher that made Remy see a lighter side of the world and taught him healing magic. It was something in Remy’s life that I knew happened to him, and I knew he admired that teacher? But I had never really given a name or face to that teacher until now.

That being said, despite being Rem’s teacher, he’s not supposed to be much older than Remy (2-3 years older to give a figure). o-o he’s just far more skilled at healing than Remy will ever be, lol
