Elmhurst is a wet, boggy place. It rains A LOT. The sky is only one colour and that colour is GREY. A lot of fish is eaten and exported so a lot of jobs are: fisherperson in some way.

They grow hardy plants that don’t take up much space.

They also farm sea salt, and elm tree wood although it’s not their main trades.

A lot of the land is taken up with livestock, mostly sheep. The sheep are for the vampires running the place.

They import fresh fruits, like lemons, and leather. The nearest town is quite far away so it’s quite a big trip, which about 5 people do once a month with a massive cart of their exports to come back with the imports.

Rosalina wanted to do this when she was younger, to travel and see the world more than her small village. They wouldnt accept a disabled girl. She had been similar to an apprentice for this. As a 6th person she mostly just watched as one of the 5 was to retire soon. She helped out this person. She was about 13/14 years old.

It’s situated at the bottom of a forested mountain. With the manor on a small outcropping. The mountain and thus the manor loom over the townsfolk.

The people are hard and tough. Also mostly women. Her parents were tough and caring, with softer hobbies than standard.

Nicknames are not given loosely, only for like people you care for. Family, friends, lovers. If you’re mad with someone you tell them they cannot call you a nickname. Giving someone a new nickname is like a proposal or saying you enjoy their company, depends on what your pre-existing relationship is.

Rose introducing herself firstly with a nickname is her attempting to familiarise the town with her. Introducing yourself with a nickname is basically saying I want you to like me, I want to talk to people. Maybe if people know her only by a nickname, they’ll see her as a friend or nice neighbour. (Autistic behaviour)

And of course Oakhurst is to the east of Elmhurst.
