ella is definitely the fussier one but azhar doesn't really mind. if anything he finds it kind of endearing and likes to playfully tease her over it

for ella, it's azhar's effortless rizz. ella is super socially awkward and pretty inexperienced with people in general, and the way azhar can just chat her up like it's nothing gets her very flustered

as for azhar, it's the way ella understands him on such a deep level and can see past the walls he's put up like no one else can. it's hard to pretend you're a bad motherfucker when your former best friend/ex-girlfriend/enemy/situationship is still around and fully aware that at the end of the day you're just a wet cat who is desperate for acceptance and belonging and love.

30. Describe how one character would cheer the other up after a hard day.

if azhar is going through it, all ella has to do to make him feel better is hold his hand or pull him into a long hug and just be there for him. that boy needs reassurance that he's not alone and that he has a safe place to land and any little gesture of physical affection can go a long way to put him in a better mood. yes, he's touch-starved

ella tends to be in her own head and struggles with stress quite a lot. thankfully azhar is the best at making her happy and so he'll give 110%, give her space to vent, offer her reassurance, make her laugh so hard she forgets what was bothering her in the first place, make her one of her favorite hot drinks, tell her about all the wild shit he's been up to as a distraction, even take her out somewhere nice if she feels like leaving the house (though being out with azhar tends to devolve into utter chaos really fast given all the people who want him dead, and chances are ella will end up with far more problems than she started with 💀)

not quite in the act, but saki once walked in on them shortly afterwards. she could tell what just happened because they were both in high spirits in a way their moody asses normally never are lol

their very first encounter was also their very first disagreement, sets the tone for the rest of their relationship 😅 back then they were just two weird teenagers with nothing in common (aside from their weirdness) and they'd just started attending secret magic school after their boring regular school. ella was a reasonable student and knew that the boring but practical uses of magic they were just introduced to were an essential first step in their education, while azhar was cranky because they didn't jump straight into the cool stuff like how to shoot lightning out of your hands and how to cast a curse.

3. How often do they cry?

ella is pretty emotionally repressed so she rarely cries, even when she wants to, unless it's a full on breakdown and she's past the point where she can hold back tears.

azhar, on the other hand, tries to refrain from crying because The Trauma makes him feel as if expressing emotional vulnerability would be an invitation for people to stab him in the back and make him regret ever opening up. however, whether he likes it or not, he ends up crying a lot when he's alone or with someone he feels he can let his guard down around.

27. What is their opinion on kids? Would they like to have them someday?

they're just two 21 year old teenagers, they sure as hell are not planning on having kids at this point in their lives. maybe in their late 20s if they're both in the right place mentally? i think they would be fantastic parents once they've put in the work to heal from the entirety of their lives so far!

31. What's stopping them from functioning to the best of their abilities?

for ella, it's her extreme individualism. not only does it often manifest in a tendency to self-isolate and shut herself in, ella has also always been under the impression that everything will be ok if she handles every problem all by herself just because she can (she has a good amount of hubris in her), which uhh has had catastrophic consequences before. thankfully she also has people who love her who are helping her change her ways!
