My high school director is considering doing Pirates of Penzance for next year, so naturally I'm already thinking about auditions! Do you think it's necessary to use a Gilbert and Sullivan piece, or would it be appropriate to use a different song, one I'm more comfortable with?
It’s not necessary at all! A lot of people would stick with a G&S piece so they may all be done at the auditions. As long as the song you’re singing is in the style of the show and fits your voice.Â
