Yeah, but the cabin's filled with other great stuff: shrooms, weed, coke... Might want to keep Lucifer away from the evidence (whispers) if we don't want any to go missing.
UGH lucifer fox/Netflix is SO frustrating because i genuinely think that Tom Ellis is the best devil i've ever seen. the BEST. THE best. (and the way he turns the charm off as Michael? woah, super cool transformation and acting there, loved to see it.) ANYWAY, it could have been a GREAT show! ...but it's a cop show instead. (somehow even worse, it's a soap opera-y cop show, so it's also very badly written, but okay, i concede that that is the intentional silly easy kind of entertainment they were aiming for, so *maze voice* whatever.) whole thing is based on the premises that cops are the good guys, which thwarts the whole narrative for a show about the devil taking a vacay in Los Angeles and falling in love, because it's the wrong kind of "justice" that he learns from and there's just no going around that. the copaganda bleeds in every aspect and it's... i mean, even just this: the cast is full of cool, interesting characters! and then there's Chloe decker. i genuinely think Lauren german is a great actress, she feels very natural and she's hilarious, its the CHARACTER that's never made me feel like lucifers obsession with her was justified. she's just not that special, which could have been a thing in itself, the devil being in love with a random no one, except that we're being TOLD that she is special, and... eh? falls flat, and to me it doesn't help that she's supposed to be special BECAUSE she's a cop. her superstrenght addiction plot was her ONLY good plot and it didn't even go anywhere! my answer is simply that this never should have been a cop show. ruins everything.
anyway. to me it was a giant wasted (well. just kinda ruined) opportunity for a Tom Ellis lucifer show. could have had it all. lesley-ann brandt is AWESOME, the faces she pulls? she's hilarious, she's not afraid to eat scenery and take up space acting, AND she delivers great emotional scenes. the way she screams gutturally and her voice breaks when maze is upset? chef kiss. db woodside is really Good at being an angel and also a dork, perfect balance. Rachael Harris? incredible. Kevin Alejandro? made me cry. (and also incredibly under utilized and wasted, deserved way better storylines.) Aimee Garcia? adorable. even Tricia helfer's character made little sense but SHE killed it! WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL!!!

It was late afternoon at the police station. Everyone was finishing up their work. Y/N stood by the door of the main office, holding two cups of coffee she bought for Lucifer and herself.
She stopped walking when she saw Lucifer.
He was leaning against Chloe’s desk. Chloe was laughing at something he said. Lucifer was looking right at her. His eyes were soft, so warm and bright—the kind of look Y/N had always wished he would give her. He smiled, slow and gentle, like there was no one else in the room.
Y/N’s chest felt tight, like something heavy sat right on it. Her throat burned. She held the coffee cups tighter, her fingers turning pale.
Of course, she thought. Of course he looks at her like that. It’s always been her. I was just fooling myself thinking I ever had a chance. This is hopeless.
She set Lucifer’s coffee down quietly on a nearby table. She turned around and walked out fast before anyone saw her eyes get wet. She went down the back hallway to the empty break room, closed the door softly, and sat down on the small chair by the window. She stared at the floor, and tears started rolling down her cheeks.
A minute later, the door opened gently.
“Y/N? Hey… there you are,” Ella said softly. She pulled a chair and sat right next to her. She had a sad, knowing little smile. “I saw you stop by the door a while ago. Oh honey, don’t cry, okay? Please don’t cry.”
Y/N wiped her eyes fast with the back of her hand. “I’m okay. I just… I really thought maybe… never mind. It doesn’t matter.”
“Hey, look at me,” Ella said, patting her arm gently. “Talk to me. What happened?”
Y/N took a shaky breath. “I saw him. Lucifer, looking at Chloe… he looked so happy, so soft. Like she’s everything he wants. I know I shouldn’t feel this way. I know I’m just… here. But I really liked him so much, Ella. More than I can say. Now I know it’s all just my silly wishful thinking. He loves her. Everyone can see it. I should just stop hoping.”
Ella let out a soft little laugh, not teasing—just gentle and sweet. She shook her head.
“Oh Y/N… sweet, sweet Y/N. You have no idea, do you?”
Y/N blinked at her, confused. “What do you mean?”
“Everyone knows,” Ella said simply. “Everyone. Chloe knows, Dan knows, Maze knows, even Lieutenant Pierce figured it out after three days! We’ve all been waiting for you two to catch up already!”
“Catch up on what?” Y/N asked quietly.
“That Lucifer is crazy about you!” Ella said, grinning now. “That man looks at you like you hung all the stars in the sky! He’s just… Lucifer, you know? He’s loud and dramatic and terrible at hiding things… but somehow you never notice!”
Y/N shook her head fast. “No Ella, you’re wrong. I just saw him—”
“Okay okay, let’s talk about that,” Ella said. “He was telling Chloe about how you helped that lost little kid find her mom yesterday, remember? He was going on and on about how smart and kind you are! Chloe laughed because he was acting so proud he could burst! That soft look? That was him talking about you! And hey—he looks at Chloe like she’s his best friend. Like a sister! Nothing more!”
Y/N just sat there, staring. “That can’t be true. He never acts like that with me.”
“Is that so?” Ella ticked things off on her fingers. “Who brings you your favorite snack every morning even before you ask? Who stays late to walk you home? Who got all grumpy when that guy asked you out last week? Who listened for an hour when you were sad about your grandma and didn’t make one joke the whole time? Who looks at you like you’re the only person who gets him? That’s all him, Y/N! All for you!”
Before Y/N could say anything else, they heard slow, familiar footsteps outside. Then the door opened.
It was Lucifer.
He stood there for a second, looking at Y/N’s red eyes, and his face turned soft and worried. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him.
“Ella… could you give us a minute please?” he asked gently.
Ella stood up, gave Y/N’s hand a squeeze, winked at her quickly, and walked out. “Don’t be too slow, okay? She’s been crying!” she called quietly before closing the door.
Lucifer pulled the chair closer to Y/N. He sat down, leaning forward a little, his voice quiet and gentle like he was talking to something very precious.
“Y/N… what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
Y/N looked away, twisting her hands together. “It’s nothing. I’m fine. You don’t have to pretend to care.”
“Pretend?” Lucifer sounded hurt. “Why would you say that?”
She looked up at him finally, tears welling up again. “I saw you by Chloe’s desk. You looked at her so lovely… I know you love her. I know I shouldn’t hope for anything. I just… I really like you, Lucifer. But I know it’s hopeless. I won’t get in the way, I promise.”
Lucifer stared at her for a moment, then let out a soft, sad little sigh. He reached out slowly, like he was afraid she’d pull away, and brushed a tear off her cheek with his thumb.
“Oh Y/N… my silly, sweet Y/N,” he said softly. “I don’t love Chloe that way. Not at all. She’s my best friend—one of the best people I’ve ever known. But I don’t love her like that.”
Y/N just shook her head slowly. “How can I believe you? You looked at her like she’s everything.”
“Because I was telling her about you,” Lucifer said simply. “I was telling her how brave you were today, how you noticed the clue no one else saw, how you smiled at me and my whole day felt brighter. I was smiling because I was thinking of you.”
He took a slow breath, looked straight into her eyes, and spoke very clearly.
“I love you, Y/N. Truly. Deeply. More than I know how to say sometimes. I have for a long, long time.”
Y/N’s mouth fell open. She stared at him like he just spoke a language she didn’t know. Her heart beat so fast she could hear it in her ears.
“You… you what?” she whispered.
“I love you,” Lucifer said again, soft but sure. “I love how kind you are. I love how you roll your eyes at my jokes but smile anyway. I love how you care so much about everyone. I love you, Y/N. Only you.”
Y/N pulled back a little, still shaking her head. Her voice was wobbly. “No… no, Lucifer. You can’t. Why would you love me? You’re… you. And you do look at Chloe sometimes like she’s special. Everyone says you two are perfect together. I’m just… me. Please don’t say that just because you feel bad I was crying.”
Lucifer’s face turned serious. He reached out and held both her hands gently, not too tight.
“I am not saying this to make you feel better,” he said firmly but softly. “I mean every single word. I know you don’t believe me yet. That’s alright. I will show you and I will swore it to my father dear that I will prove it to you for as long as it takes. Every single day. Okay?”
And he kept his word.
The next morning, Y/N found her favorite warm tea and sweet bread waiting right on her desk—just how she liked it, not too hot, extra sugar. Lucifer walked past, smiled soft at her, and said. “Hope it’s alright. I remembered you said you liked this brand last week.”
When Chloe came over later and said. “Lucifer, want to grab dinner later and talk about the case?” Lucifer smiled friendly at her, then glanced at Y/N and said. “That sounds lovely, but I already promised Y/N that I’d help her carry some boxes to her new place this evening. Maybe tomorrow?”
Chloe just grinned and said. “Sure thing! Have fun you two.”
When they were working late that night, Y/N shivered a little. Before she could say anything, Lucifer took off his nice black coat and put it gently over her shoulders. It smelled like him—warm, clean, a little like spice.
“Is that better?” he asked quietly, standing close beside her.
Y/N nodded slowly. “Thank you.”
“Anything for you,” he said simply.
One afternoon, they sat on the roof of the station eating lunch. Y/N watched him for a while, then said quietly. “You really don’t love Chloe?”
Lucifer put down his sandwich. He turned to her, very calm and honest.
“Chloe is wonderful. She’s strong, kind, a great detective. But when I look at her? I see a good friend. When I look at you?” He paused, his eyes so warm they made her chest feel soft. “My heart beats faster. I want to make you smile. I want to tell you everything. I want to be the one who makes sure you’re safe and happy. That’s how I know it’s different. That’s how I know it’s love.”
He reached over and tucked a little strand of hair behind her ear.
“I don’t blame you for not believing me right away. I know I’m not always good at showing things right. But I am not going anywhere. I will keep showing you, Y/N. Until you believe me. Until you know it’s true.”
Slowly, day by day, little by little—Y/N started to see it.
She saw how he looked at her: bright, warm, like she was the most interesting person in the whole world. She saw how he always walked on the side closer to the street when they went places. She saw how he listened when she talked, really listened, even about silly little things. She saw how he got quiet and gentle whenever she was sad. She saw how he never did those things for anyone else—not even Chloe.
One evening, they sat on the steps outside Lux after everyone left. The sky was dark, the street lights glowing soft gold. Lucifer turned to her.
“Do you believe me now?” he asked quietly. “That I love you?”
Y/N looked at him—really looked at him—and smiled. Her eyes felt warm and happy now, not hurt anymore.
“I think… I think I do,” she said softly. “I see it now. I was just so scared I’d get hurt I didn’t notice.”
Lucifer smiled, the brightest, happiest smile she’d ever seen. He held out his hand to her.
“May I?”
Y/N put her hand in his. His fingers wrapped gently around hers, warm and sure.
“I love you too,” she said. “So much.”
He lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles soft and slow.
“Good,” he said quietly. “Because I’m never letting you forget it.”
From the doorway, Ella and Chloe and Maze peeked out quietly, grinning and giving each other little thumbs up.
After that night on the steps outside Lux, things felt different — softer, brighter, and full of quiet hope. But Y/N still sometimes had those little moments of doubt, and Lucifer made sure every single day to show her exactly where his heart belonged.
One morning at the station, Y/N walked in, still half-asleep, rubbing her eyes. She stopped when she saw what was waiting on her desk.
There was a warm cup of tea, just how she liked it — not too strong, extra honey. Next to it was a paper bag with her favorite lemon cookies, and a little note written in fancy handwriting:
“For the one who makes even dull mornings feel like sunshine. — L”
She smiled to herself, picking up the note. Just then, Lucifer walked over, hands in his pockets, looking pleased with himself.
“Good morning, my dear,” he said softly. “Sleep well?”
Y/N nodded, her cheeks pink. “Yes, thank you. And thank you for all this. You really didn’t have to.”
“Nonsense,” Lucifer replied, leaning gently against the desk. “If it makes your day a little better, then it is worth every bit of effort. Besides… seeing you smile is the best reward I could ask for.”
Just then, Chloe walked past, holding her own coffee. She grinned at both of them.
“Morning you two. Lucifer, you’re being extra sweet today — even more than usual.”
Lucifer just chuckled, his eyes never leaving Y/N. “Only for the best reason, Detective. Only for her.”
Chloe winked at Y/N. “See? I told you he was gone on you. Takes a while to see it, but once you do… it’s hard to miss.”
Y/N laughed softly, feeling lighter than she had in weeks. “I’m starting to believe it now.”
Later that afternoon, they were all working on a new case. Things got busy, and Y/N accidentally knocked over a whole stack of folders. Papers flew everywhere across the floor. Before she could even bend down, Lucifer was already kneeling beside her, gathering them up carefully.
“Here, let me help,” he said gently. “No need to strain yourself.”
“Thank you,” Y/N said, feeling a little flustered. “I’m so clumsy sometimes.”
“Clumsy is fine,” Lucifer said, smiling warmly. “It just gives me more chances to be near you.”
A few minutes later, Chloe walked over and said, “Hey, Lucifer — I found something interesting in the old files. Want to come take a look?”
Lucifer looked at Chloe, then quickly glanced at Y/N. “Of course, but only if Y/N comes too. Two pairs of eyes are better than one, especially when one pair belongs to someone as sharp as she is.”
Chloe raised an eyebrow playfully. “You don’t want to leave her side for even a minute, do you?”
“Not really,” Lucifer said honestly, with no shame at all. “Why would I? She makes everything better.
Y/N’s heart felt so full it could burst. This was nothing like the way he used to act — always making sure she was included, always wanting her close, always saying nice things about her right in front of everyone.
That evening, after work, Ella caught up with Y/N as they walked out. Lucifer had gone ahead to bring the car around.
“See what I mean now?” Ella asked happily, linking arms with her. “He can’t hide it anymore! Every time you walk into a room, his whole face lights up. Before you, he used to act like nothing mattered much. Now? It’s obvious you’re the center of his world.”
Y/N smiled, her eyes shining. “It feels so good… but sometimes I still worry it’s too good to be true. Like one day I’ll wake up and it will all be a dream.
Ella patted her arm gently. “Oh honey, love isn’t always easy to believe in at first. But trust me — when someone shows you they care, every single day, that’s when you know it’s real. And Lucifer? He’s not just saying it — he’s doing it.”
Just then, Lucifer pulled up in his sleek black car. He stepped out and opened the door for Y/N like a perfect gentleman.
“Ready to go home, my dear?” he asked softly.
“Ready,” she answered.
As they drove through the bright streets of Los Angeles, Lucifer kept one hand on the wheel and the other reached over to rest gently on hers. His hand was warm and steady.
“You know,” he said quietly, “if you ever feel unsure again… just ask me. I will tell you again and again, as many times as you need. I love you. Only you. No one else comes close.”
Y/N squeezed his hand. “Thank you, Lucifer. It means more than I can say.”
“And it means everything to me,” he replied. “You have brought peace into my life that I never thought possible. Before you, I thought happiness was just fun and parties. But now… happiness is simply being with you.”
A few days later — their first proper date. Lucifer planned something simple but special. No loud crowds, no fancy clubs — just a quiet dinner at a little place overlooking the ocean, with soft lights and gentle music.
When they sat down, he pulled out her chair, poured her a glass of sweet juice, and kept his attention fully on her.
“This is beautiful,” Y/N said, looking out at the water where the moon was shining bright.
“Not as beautiful as you,” Lucifer said with a soft smile. “I wanted somewhere quiet. Somewhere we can just talk, without anyone else around.”
For a long time, they talked — about everything and nothing. Y/N told him about her family, her childhood dreams, and all the little fears she used to have. Lucifer listened closely, asking questions, remembering every single detail.
Then he spoke more seriously.
“I know you once thought my heart belonged to Chloe,” he said gently. “And I don’t blame you. We are close, we trust each other deeply. But friendship is not love. Not the kind that makes you feel like you can finally breathe easy, like you have found your place in the world.”
He reached across the table and took both her hands.
“With Chloe — I feel like I have a good partner and a loyal friend. With you? I feel like I am finally home. I want to share every happy moment with you. I want to comfort you when you are sad. I want to protect you, laugh with you, and grow old with you — even if I am not exactly normal or mortal. If you will have me.”
Y/N felt tears of happiness fill her eyes. This time, they were not tears of heartbreak — they were tears of joy.
“I want that too,” she whispered. “More than anything. I was just so scared I would be left behind. But now… now I see it. Thank you for being so patient with me.”
Lucifer leaned forward and brushed a soft kiss against her forehead — gentle, warm, and full of love.
“Patience is easy when it comes to you,” he said. “I will spend the rest of my life proving to you that you are the only one I love.”
Back at Lux later that night. Chloe, Ella, Maze, and even Dan were all there, waiting with big smiles.
“Well?” Ella asked eagerly. “How did it go?”
Y/N blushed but smiled brightly. “It was perfect. Everything is perfect.”
Lucifer wrapped his arm gently around her shoulders, pulling her close. “Everything is perfect now that she knows the truth.”
Chloe laughed and raised her glass. “To you two! Finally! I was starting to wonder if you both would ever figure it out!”
Maze smirked but nodded. “Good choice, Devil. She’s the only one who can handle you.”
“Indeed,” Lucifer said proudly, looking down at Y/N with so much love in his eyes it made everyone else smile. “And I am the luckiest soul in existence because she chose me too.”
the noir episode of Lucifer is actually the best episode of television ever. Lilith in the best drip imaginable with the most delicious backstory, Lucifer and his same-old dickhead pretty boy routine, Ella as the mafia boss with a mustache drawn on, Dan as a gay ass pompous rich bitch, Linda and her heartbreaking backstory and dialogue, Amenadiel as a kooky bogus magic shop owner, CHLOE??? IN THE SUIT?? As a hard-boiled PI whos married to charlotte?? The kiss at the end?? (Be still my gay heart) not to mention Lilith giving her ring to Lucifer at the end. Just. Oh man
