JAIME OLÍAS El Cid 1.01 "La conjura"
In another universe...
As part of an art event on an HL server, the theme was to draw our characters in a universe other than Hogwarts Legacy.
You should know that before Hogwarts Legacy, I used to draw a lot of Saint Seiya. And it turns out that some of my characters had a backstory within that fandom. So, I wanted to draw my Alice de Tandail in her first ‘life’, if I can put it that way.
In Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Alice (formerly Sophie) was the apprentice of El Cid of Capricorn and was destined to become the Phoenix Knight. Their relationship wasn’t actually very good; Alice was quite rebellious and El Cid very cold. But as time went on, they each learnt to grow closer to one another.
And so I wanted to draw a scene where, in fact, El Cid was about to sacrifice himself but Alice intervened, pleading with him.
I have to admit that this might be the best El Cid I’ve ever drawn, even though I’d stopped following Saint Seiya three years earlier. Mind you, that doesn’t mean I’m going back to the Saint Seiya fandom, which is just too toxic for my liking. But sometimes I miss drawing El Cid, so I’ve done just that. It was a bit of a struggle because I hate armour, but drawing him in a different style is really rewarding :)

GENEVIEVE PAGE AND SOPHIA LOREN IN EL CID (1961)
image from imdb
You know what is most frustrating when a show is canceled, beyond the fact that it is an original product which does not adapt a novel or comics on which there is little comfort in order to have the end of the story ?
The simple fact that your ship hasn't even kissed or more, so you'll never see them do it, remaining eternally frustrated.
Isn't it, Anthony & Lucy (Locklyle) from “Lockwood and Co”, Alfonso & Urraca “El Cid” , Osha & Qimir (Oshamir) from “The Acolyte”, Maura & Eyk from “1899”, Riven & Musa (Rivusa) from “Fate : The Winx Saga”, Edwin & Charles from “Dead Boy Detectives”.
Day 20: Champion - Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, El Cid
God damn it, I drew another horse, someone please stop me 😭
