I love the influence Hera has on other women, sure they listen to her bc she’s their queen but there’s also no doubt that they love and care for her.

Eileithyia
Are Zeus and hera’s other children
Hebe (Goddess of Youth): Cupbearer to the gods on Olympus.
Eileithyia/Ilithyia (Goddess of Childbirth): Frequently identified as their daughter, aiding in birth.
Eris, the Greek goddess of strife and discord, has a debated lineage but is often portrayed as the daughter of Zeus and Hera
Yes, Yes and... Yes. I decided to make Eris daughter of Zeus and Hera. Because it just clicks to me that their roller coaster marriage gave birth both to Ares and Eris, which I would say are "negative" entities (sorry, it's very poorly said, but it's just for a generic speech) and at the same time, someone quite opposite and "positive" like Hebe and Eileithyia.
I find it interesting, from a psicological side. It's very likely how i see them as a couple.
Nobody asked for this, but most of my moots are on a Hera kick right now and I wanted to join in. So here’s my Hera’s tier list of her kids and step kids
All her bio kids (she claims she doesn’t have a favorite but everyone knows it’s Eileithyia)
Hermes
Athena
Everyone else
Apollo
Heracles
Artemis
Reclaiming Eileithyia's glory by saying she probably gives 0 fucks if people associate childbirth with Artemis than her. She's an introvert hustler, gets the job done, got all pregnant people praying to her, has immense power that from the tap of her foot on an island got Leto to give birth to Apollo, can fucking multiply herself into the Eileithyai, is a friend and equal of The Fates™️, can be nice enough to help her half brother's lover give birth, petty enough to transform you into a polecat if you fuck with her. She's been grounded by her mom twice and tempted into betraying her with a necklace but still is close with her to be associated with her cult, and oh, in one version, Artemis is her helper, never the other way around.
Eileithyia is pretty awesome and doesn't need the main Olympian title to prove it.

Favorite Greek myths that only survive in the visual record
I saw someone ask this question so I wanted to share my top 5. Most of these aren’t proper ‘myths’, more like scenes/moments. If you do know of a text that includes these bits, let me know
1. Aphrodite fights in the Gigantomachy
We do have an account from Strabo in which Aphrodite lures the Giants into a cave where Heracles, who was hidden, kills them one by one. So we have myths of her participating in the conflict, but here she’s armored and engaging in battle with a Giant labeled Mimos. I like it, I’m not obsessed with Aphrodite Areia or anything, but it’s cool to see her being bold and doing something outside her wheelhouse.
2. Eileithyia helps Zeus during the birth of Athena
There’s a lot more artwork with this theme. I like this piece because it’s almost impossible in the myths to find Zeus and Eileithyia having dad-daughter moments. Here, it looks like he really trusts her, and she clearly cares about him 🫂
3. Asclepius heals Prometheus
This is an Etruscan bronze mirror - it shows, from left to right, Esplace (Asclepius), Prumathe (Prometheus), Menrva (Minerva), and Hercle (Hercules). It’s clear that this depicts the myth where Heracles freed Prometheus from the eagle punishment, but here we can also see Athena comforting him and Asclepius healing him. I just think it’s adorable
4. Isis welcomes Io to Egypt
We do have plenty of texts where Io and Isis are syncretized, but I don’t think there are any where we see them as distinct beings interacting with each other. I love the idea of Io being comforted by another region’s mother goddess after being tortured by her hometown’s own
5. Hades and Persephone plough a field together
Look at this cute couple 😌🫶🏻
For all the misogyny in the ancient Greek myths at least the goddess of childbirth and the god of war were siblings.
In the sacred chamber where life begins, Eileithyia reigns supreme — the goddess who governs the miracle of birth. She was invoked in whispers and honored with offerings, her divine presence believed to ease pain and open the path to new life. From ancient Greek temples to the hearts of modern mothers, her myth endures as a symbol of the divine feminine and the courage that defines creation itself. https://mythlok.com/eileithyia/
