CLOCKED OUT! with @egokiss
Seowonās three years into the idol industry, and by this point, heād like to think that he knows the fine line between fanservice and pissing off your fans like the back of his hand.
Itās with the knowledge of this line in mind that he blocks off Shin Doahās (Haute Pink, main cast member of this show heās guesting on, pretty girl) attempts to flirt with him on camera. Itās a bad move, apparently, because Doahās acted prickly with him for the remaining hours of the episodeās shooting. Seowon is, by no means, a variety genius, but heās done enough research-watching to know that an episode where heās nervously laughing, stumbling over his words, while one of the main cast members is ever so slightly frowning at him canāt be a fun one to watch. In his defense, Seowonās supposed to do this. If he was a little less selfish, it was because he was protecting her, in his own way. If Seowon was honest, itās because he canāt lose his grip on the love thatās been given to him over some joke and a punchline. The love he receives, in a way, is him, and it was likeā an addiction that he knew full well he needed help for. Tomorrow, after one last hit.
Seowonās by the food truck sent by his fans, decorated with posters of his face and motivational messages and feels that love. Itās comforting. It makes him feel a little less guilty about humiliating his senior on television. It doesnāt last long, though, because he spots the senior in question soon enough. Still holding a paper cup filled with jasmine tea, he orders one more, and makes a beeline to Doah, a thank you barely heard to the staff handing him the cup.
āSunbaenim,ā he starts, stretching out his hand to offer her the tea that heās holding. Thereās a safe distance between them. Seowon notices now that the cup has his face printed on it, aegyo and all, and finds himself turning a little red. āI wanted to say sorry. I didnāt mean to offend you, if I did. I was just thinking of my fans and it wasnāt personal at all, really, like,ā he pauses. Geez, real humble, Seowon.
Doahās hard to figure out, Seowon realizes when heās standing face-to-face with her. Sheās not exactly sunshine, but sheās not guarded, either. Seowon thinks of the way Doah shines as a little bit like glitterā boundless, sparkly, everywhere. āYeah, sorry.ā Itās awkward, suddenly. He coughs, running a hand through his hair.
