"Fuck it, Vox! I'm sick of your shit!" You scream as you slash through his cords then summoning your mallet and throwing your dulled katana at him.
"Well, this wouldn't have happened if you didn't piss me off, doll," he cackles through his tv voice filter, barely dodging your knife before getting hit in the face with your mallet.
"I barely did shit! If anything!" you yell as you sit on top of him and raising your mallet once again, "Your, hit, dumbass, hit, LOOKED FOR A FIGHT, hit, WITH, hit, ME!"
You heaved as you lowered your mallet next to his battered glass face and looked at him.
"Ah fuck," you mutter as you plopped your ass on the other side tired as hell from his unexpected attack on you.
You were on your way to meet up with Alastor in Cannibal Town. Thinking it was just another uneventful day, so you opted to take a stroll downtown on your way. When all of a sudden, cables wrapped around your foot and electrocuted you. Leading you to the mess you both are now.
You rubbed your tired face, and lit a cigarette then gave the tv a side eye, "Who got your panties in a twist, blockhead? I think I know fairly well enough you wouldn't just ambush me like that."
He just growls and looks to the side avoiding looking at you. Fed up with him, you just begrudgingly stood up feeling sore all over from getting electrocuted a few more times than you'd like.
"I don't think I've done anything against you the past couple days though. Is this about Al?" you try asking him you laugh at him smoke dispersing.
Clearly this hits a nerve, as he attempts to send more cables at you sneakily which you saw from the corner of your eye, which you sliced with a dagger you materialized.
"You need to stop. That really hurts you know," you complain before taking another smoke and sticking the rest into Vox's mouth, "You should calm down. I'll give you this for free."
He just continues to look dazed for a moment before taking a hit and sighing deeply then sitting up next to you, even freely slumping on you like he didn't try and kill you earlier.
"Ugh, you've gotten heavier, you bitch," you grumble but not shaking him off.
It wasn't always like this. Once a upon a time, you, Vox and Alastor were a trio. That would just coincidentally bump into each other during turf wars as new sinners of hell, trying to make a name for yourselves before you became the overlords you are today.
It was only until Vox offered a partnership between us and Alastor blowing him off making the whole relationship sour. You were still in good terms with Alastor, with Vox though, he saw this as a betrayal and took his frustrations out on you too when he saw you both together.
You did have a crush on both of them way back then, that sort of turned a vague relationship of more than friends but less than lovers. However, Vox seemed to care more about Alastor while Alastor did his own thing and more thought of you as a trusty companion (that he flirts with) that you just didn’t want to burden him with your feelings for him. So, you just lived with those feelings by yourself as you became increasingly powerful by the years, helping them or stopping both idiots when they’re going out of line.
“Man, you guys are making me tired. I should get a new babysitter for both of you,” you sighed tiredly leaning on him back.
“…Sorry,” a rare apology slips from his lips as he wraps his arms around you, shocking you a bit.
So, you just gave him a huff hugged him back with a laugh, “Idiot.”
“I should go though. I’d hate to run in with Velvette. She’s still mad about me stealing the show when she filmed me too during a turf war,” you cringed as you stood up and dusted yourself off, “See you later, Vince.”
A car conveniently parks on the road. You get inside the car and wave Vox goodbye before speeding off to Cannibal Town where Alastor waited for you. You freshened yourself up before telling them to drop you off by the entrance so you could breezily walk to Rosie’s emporium yourself.
Upon arriving, people are already lined up at the counter with Rosie entertaining them. You gave her a smile and spotted Alastor sitting by himself with his ears peeled back with his arms crossed.
“Hey there, Bambi,” you teased him and petting his ears behind him.
“(Name)~ You’re awfully late today,” he says perking up, holding one of you hands to kiss the back of it then leading you to your seat. You pay it no mind, thinking it was just his natural gentleman nature.
“Oh, Vox happened. Just a bit of a scuffle. Seems annoyed about us again,” you joked taking the cup of tea for yourself, avoiding the cannibal options.
“Typical,” he snorts filling your cup after you drank from it offering him a bright ‘thank you’ as he did.
“But you know,” you paused and looked at him seriously, “he actually apologized to me earlier. I saw a bit of the old Vince. I can’t lie it was cute.”
The initial statement made him stunned as well, but your comment of calling him cute made his expression turn sour again.
“What’s so special about that? If you were such good friends before, why would he hurt you?” he scoffs.
You raise your eyebrow and give him a deadpan look, “I wonder who made him that way. I wonder who humiliated him for an idea he just thought of after years of us working together. Can’t you just make up with him, and we go back to being fine around each other?”
He rolls his eyes at you telling you, “Ha! Never.” Before leading you out to the town to sightsee. He walked you to a boutique and made you try a few novel dresses, a few of which he bought for you simply because he liked them on you. While you picked him a few coats, undershirts and a couple bows and ties.
“Oh, what’s this? On another date with the lady, Alastor?” an elderly lady asked as she bagged the clothes neatly and offer them to him.
“Why, of course. It’s my day off after all,” he answers politely taking our items and handing them down to his minions. While you were being entertained by Alastor’s shadow as it did party tricks for you.
“Right, I also remember you taking her here 30 years ago on your day off too,” she adds.
“That’s correct! Well, we’ll be off now. We can’t miss our dinner reservations,” he says swiftly before the old lady could drag the conversation anymore and bore Alastor to which you laugh at his attempt and bid the old lady your farewells.
You cover your painted lips to hide your giggles and leaned on Alastor’s arm that you’re holding onto, “I can’t believe that was 30 years ago. You were much busier before, always getting into fights with old overlords.”
“Yes, it was quite eventful but very fulfilling I should say,” he replies, “Aren’t you also busy with your own duties?”
“I am. Business has been well, everyone is quite capable with their tasks, so I barely have to butt in their tasks which is assuring. I get to have more free time,” you answer happily.
He sighs and laughs, “Sweetheart, you’re adorable but I can’t help but worry for you if you say it like that. You’ll lose authority over them if you just let them go so lax.”
You huff at him annoyed making him add, “It’s not that I don’t trust you. I just don’t want them to act out of line. Remind them, instill fear in them, or… shall I do it for you?”
You glare at him, he knows how much you dislike him saying that he’ll do it for you when it concerns your business. “I’ll do it myself, thank you very much!”
“I’m just teasing, my love,” he says bending down and pecking your cheek making you roll your eyes at him playfully.
“Watch it, stinky—wait you actually don’t stink today Al,” you say holding his coat and basically inhaling his chest and neck, making him shiver which you didn’t even notice.
“Well, someone has been on my neck about it whenever I try and get closer to her,” he replies holding onto your shoulders finding your little breaths on him to be ticklish.
“Well,” you mocked him as you lifted your head at him with a playful grin, “thank fucking god then.”
When your date with him was done. He escorts you back to your car and magically puts everything in the back seat. You gave him one final hug and sit on the passenger’s seat.
“One more thing before I forget,” he mentions materializing a bouquet of your favorite flowers then handing them to you, “my final gift for today. It was a pleasure catching up again, (name).”
You accept them gratefully and motioning him to lean closer to you as you gave him a peck on his cheek.
“You're sweet, Al. I love it,” you beam at him, “I’ll see you again soon.”
You wave him goodbye as the vehicle went to a slow start for a final moment between the two.
