The prophet (egghead guy) x reader

You lay in bed with him. He's right next to you, book in hand, asking you which page he should open to.

There's so much you can know of another just from their answers he said. Besides it was necessary, and he needed to know what the book will say. And as always, you gave him a page to open to.

"Let's love only in dreams we can't wake from, for reality never was ours to claim" he read up the line you choose from his book.

He peeked up at you, trying to read the expression on your face.

"What do you think of this one?" He asked you as he closed the book and put it on his lap.

"Hmm...it reminds me of something but not sure what."

"It feels familiar?"

"I think so?"

"So it resonates with you, i see."

He scooch closer to you, putting his head to rest on your shoulder. You brushed your hand through his back, caressing his head. The motion made him rather sleepy. He could have fallen asleep on you so easily. But the sound of your sweet voice brought him back.

"Do you have any thoughts on it?" It was your turn to ask.

And for once he had immediately.

He had been more and more aware of the fact that you could be gone one day. What if he's too late to deliver a message, what if she leaves him clueless, all alone to fend for himself, how will he save you from your eternal fate? How much time can he spend with you until reality pulls you apart, and you will only be visible in his dreams?

Maybe it's a warning? He tried putting the pieces together in his mind, but it just got him in distress.

"You there?" You gently poked his cheek.

He looked up at you, snuggling even closer.

"Yes, yes im here..I think...i need to rest and see. I might have a vision while doing so." he put his hands around your waist, hanging onto you from the side like a koala. You needen't to worry about him he thought to himself. He knew saying it out loud would cause you to become worried. He doesn't want to see you sad.

You gave a kiss to his nose, it brought a smile on his face. He loved your smile, it brightened up his day more than the sun ever could. You wrapped your hands around him, turning to face him. Affection is something he rarely experienced, and he's more than happy to be held by your loving arms.

It was always so comforting to cuddle to sleep with you. A person to be at peace with. Do you know how deep of a trust you have to hold for another to let them so close to you when you're vulnerable? Not being awake, especially at these times, is a danger itself, but you trust him so well, he appreciates every little thing that you do/say. You were his everything, in his dreams you'll be. The love you give him is something he could never forget, it has become a need now, to see you, talk to you, touch you, to feel your warmth, to tell that you're alive. He hopes to find something in his dreams, a vision, an answer. Anything, to ease his worry.
