Typically, in magic related mediaโit's used for action when coming up against enemies. But seeing Coco want to learn kinder magic and even think of ways to avoid harming the dragon makes me tear up. What I find interesting during Muzan and Ubuyashiki's conversation is when Muzan proclaims that he has not been punished for everything that he's done. Yes, he has killed thousandsโmaybe millions if we count the people that the demons he's created over the centuriesโbut still hasn't been defeated during that time. Defeat isn't his punishment. It's living for so long, striving for something for the vast majority of his life, and him desperately wanting to achieve his dream but has never fulfilled it.
Douma knew where the flowers were. Nezuko is what he's been looking for yet he cannot reach her. The Demon Slayer Corps have always been in the way.
So many variables went against him in his pursuit. His punishment was spending centuries to reach an ambition that he can never attain. That all of his efforts, sacrifices, and time will be in vain.
He has already been punished long before he even realized it. Long before the confrontation in the Infinity Castle. That arc was simply the climax and what served as the final act to his punishment.
He was never forgiven.

What I love about Tanjiro is that he's kind but not a saint. He's still a teenager that has emotions and his own desires. While, yes, we all know and love how gentle and kind Tanjiro is. Another thing I love about his character is that he can sometimes be childish as well! In the scene where Inosuke bothers him with multiple questions of the old lady's intentions, he just sulks and runs faster without another word. Another example would be when he was forced to make a decision between killing a demon and Nezuko being burned by the sun. We see him admit that he cannot make a decision. Tanjiro himself admits this. He still desperately wants to save Nezuko but he also cannot bring himself to go against his principles of letting a demon live and kill more other people.
The reason why I will not survive in an apocalypse is that I have random alarms on my phone. I could be sneaking around and then my phone would go off. Even worse is that I can't even remember WHERE my phone isโ
