you know... a girl could've hated hated hated edith's conclusion but a the end of the day the joke is still on me because i keep rereading it😭

It feels like the author made the exact same episode twice tbh. This epilogue felt so similar to the finale, and had the same issues. Did I miss the part where the audience was supposed to stop caring about Philip?

Something about Edith in that final epilogue disappointed me so much. Realistically she did and said almost nothing, but everything she did seemed so.... Immature? It really made it clear how little the character ended up growing. I feel like the original finale had me upset and confused, I don't even know if I feel anything after this epilogue I'm just disappointed

i'm so mad at the 'i remember when i used to fixate on being with attractive men i hardly knew, hoping that maybe one of these charming princes could save me from my loneliness. i'm older now.' quote because the way the story is written makes this statement simply not true. maybe i didn't read it right, maybe i need reading- comprehension lessons but to me edith may have grown a bit but she still looks like someone who chose a charming prince to save her from her loneliness. she simply went nowhere near the 'redemption' arc here descripted and it would have been better to recognize it instead of trying to push it down our throats like this.

Anyway, we stan a woman who can look at a toxic person, forgive them, and walk away ✌🏻
